Thing One) This year's bringthehappy fest is live for prompt-filling! Yay! [Browse the prompts, rules, and FAQ for Bring The Happy.] The end date for the fest is 29 Aug.
Thing Two) Have you seen the rules for
polybigbang? I think it's so very awesome that the sign-ups for the writers don't close until the first draft is due! This means that both folks who love and who fear deadline-related-commitment can play! (Erm, not that I have time right now to even entertain playing, but I love that I could.) Anyway, the first draft is due on 20 Sept and original fic is allowed this year. :) [Polybigbang rules and FAQ post] and [Polybigbang writer sign-up post].
Cousin It) Yet another auction way to get pressies. I've got two threads up at help-pakistan: the first has [ yet another offer of a box full o' Fishlandia awesomeness] and the second is [ an infinite number of offers of an envelope with Fishlandish stuff (minimum bid $2)] on the basis that (a) I'm already assembling one Fishlandish box and so assembling another one in parallel doesn't increase the workload too much; and (b) mayhap this'll be a nice way to disseminate my a-bit-too-large collection of flat-ish local items. Bidding is open now and closes SUNDAY AUGUST 29TH, 1 PM EST11:59 PM Saturday, August 28th EST. (Edited to include the new closing time for the auction.)

ETA: Ha, I don't think this was it, but: the 'random icon' button on the DW post creation page is way too much fun, jsyk. Oh, speaking of (not that this was it either *sigh*): I have way too many DW invites sitting around my inbox. Let me know if you want one (and feel free to direct anyone else this way.)
