Signal-boosting yet another fest :)
One of the difficulties in podficcing is that there isn't really a culture of feedback. So readers often don't have a sense of what works and doesn't work. Or what works really well for some people and not at all for others. So Paraka is hosting a podfic critique fest-- the idea is that podficcers can submit one podfic that they'd like critique on and people (including people who listen to podfics but don't produce them) give feedback. There's a bit more organisation than that to it and some deadlines, so here's (identical) links:

I find the deadlines to be a bit tight, especially as I've already been contacted for a podfic beta that'll likely be mid-Jan and then there's the
you_know_thats_right fest which entirely overlaps this. Plus there's my Fandom-Free-For-All fic which I still am working on (I hope to have a complete draft by mid-month and then edit it. Which, you'll notice, kind of overlaps everything else.). So while I want to participate (especially since the more participants that there are the more likely it is to happen again), I'm dithering over how long of a fic I can promise myself for. *sigh* Oh fandom, how do you have neat things happening constantly?
