Heee, I love Gus making bets with Shawn's dad! :D

:)

And Gus had thought that he would win this one, too! The week of the bet was smack-dab in the middle of Chief Vick's vacation, and there was a Pineapple convention two towns over on the Monday/Tuesday of the week. So really, Gus thought he was solid! And then there was this case where lots of unmarked bills were found at the Santa Barbara's Best Dry Cleaners and then there were FBI agents (and Agent Baker was grumpy!) and Gus considers it an achievement that on day six he was only up to eight!

ETA: Next time I'm searching for prompts, you could suggest other fics with other bets between Gus and Mr. Spencer. I think the two of them bond over having to put up with Shawn, and I think that the occasional bet helps with this :)

I love that your comment is nearly as long again as the story. :P

I know, it's crazy! There's even more (only a bit!) in my head... This is for a 298 word ficlet! (I'm beginning to understand how verses expand)

For example, I haven't decided if Shawn knows about the bet(s) yet. I think maybe he doesn't, because those conversations happen on the dinners that he skips out on, but that Gus goes to anyways.

I support this notion wholeheartedly.

*grin* That's lovely to hear!

I don't know when/if I'll write more in this verse (is it long enough to call a verse?). The idea still needs fleshing out and I have a number of other fic commitments. I'd love to write it up, but I write very slowly and I don't want to get anyone's hopes up. However! If this bunny strikes your fancy, you (and/or others) are welcome to play with it :)
