During my lunch break I eat food and sometimes attempt fanish things

Feb 23, 2009 17:17

The most recent lunch break labours were more on the 'attempting' than on the 'succeeding' with regards to fanish things :( And thus, I bring you the 'whine at my muse' post! Cut for your lack-of-viewing pleasure ( Read more... )

I've totally had that same problem. My ficlet Space was based off a tiny snippet of a scene that I could see in my head, but when I first tried to write it, it was rather ridiculously long and didn't follow what I intended and totally got out of hand and then I got all sulky and didn't speak to it for ages. And then one day it just fell into place. I had to trash the awkwardly epic exposition I'd begun, but the tiny scene I'd wanted managed to find its own wee voice.

So, you know, don't poke things too hard. They tend to sort themselves out best without too much interference, I find. :)

And Laura-Bunnies tend to sort themselves out best when they get a somewhat decent amount of sleep, so... *hops off*

I just re-read 'Space' and all I've got to say is 'daaaaaaaw, sweet'. So maybe if one day I'm lucky and things slot into place without too much jamming things will be daawsweet on my page too! I have a real problem with poking things. I think I might have to get my poking-stick confiscated. Well, poking things and forgetting things. I'm a fish full of trouble and contradictions. :P

I'm actually kinda crazy-enthused about the 'how language' ficlet right now, even despite the annoyances. We'll see how long it lasts before I get distracted on my lunch breaks by something else, but in the meantime I get to stretch my wings a bit with a slightly different writing style. *grins slightly crazily*

Have a good sleep, sleepy-bunny! *points at icon* Here, I've given you John to read you a story!
