Hard drive kaputz!

We lost the hard drive on our desktop a while ago as we were trying to back up the important stuff as the computer was acting strange. Unforutately, no backup. I hooked the drive up to our laptop via a USB hard drive enclosure kit, but no luck.

Twin Cities folk: any recommendations for a data recovery company?

Have you tried Norton Utilities and such? I've heard they can work wonders.

Otherwise the only company I know of is OnTrak in Eden Prairie... they charge $100 just to look at it... and there's a good chance they can't do anything.

But I'd try the software recovery tools, I've heard a good things.
