I did the unimaginable today; I got up before 10am. And I don’t mean 9:59 either-I was up and dressed before 7am! I haven’t had to do that for…for I don’t know how long. This may have been the first time this year. To be honest, I didn’t think I could manage it, but my 9am meeting for Wednesday has now been changed to an 8am meeting, and I need the training to be sure not to miss it as that would be a DISASTER.
So, there I was, fully dressed and alive at 7am, with very little to do. I could feel my bed calling me but I was not about to give in. So I packed a bag and ran out of the house, catching a train into town. It’s not very often I get to New Street before noon, especially on a weekday. It was nice, quiet and very windy. I did some shopping, mostly window, and had a small coffee and sandwich around 11am (I often don’t eat breakfast this early). Before noon I was on the train, heading to the gym. The place was deserted so I spent about two hours stretching, lifting, aerobiscizing.
My goal for tomorrow is to make the 10:30am palates class for the first time ever. I’m so tired right now that I do not anticipate any problems sleeping tonight.
Last night I wrote in my journal about how very much it didn’t seem like early September. Today I have the opposite opinion. We are having absolutely perfect weather-blue skies, dry, lots of wind. If only I had my hammock I would spend the next few hours napping in the back garden with the feral cats. I suppose that would throw my sleeping pattern off. Oh well. Maybe next week (unless I’m busy with NXO).
I’ve been watching “Dead Like Me” on DVD for the past week. Although I’ve seen most of the episodes, I’ve never gotten around to watching them all in order back to back. Aside from the fact that I’m not an 18-year-old dead girl/reaper hanging out in Der Waffle Haus, I find I empathize with George quite a lot. Over the past few years I’ve really been living in my own head. And who would blame me! It’s nice in here! But it is nice to venture out once in a while.
Next on my DVD watching list: “Life on Mars”.
