Saw STP at the Hollywood Bowl last night. Weiland mentioned that playing there was one of five places he will remember in his lifetime. I could say something sarcastic, but I know what he meant.
The show was sold out, my friend Matt Stelzer aka awesome shader/engine programmer, bought the tickets and he was pretty easy to find once we got to there. We had the best seats for being high up. Dead center where you could take all the scenery had to give. The saying 'you have to be there comes to mind', but picture the iconic bowl stage set against a small mountain and behind that seeing part of the hollywood sign on the mountain behind that.
They played everything from Core, almost all of Purple. Those are the only 2 albums I owned.
The group looked pretty happy to be up there together, I hope that by the end of the tour they are still getting along.
