Nomad art
LOVING this article on the burial goods and luxury items of Central Asian nomads. Methinks I need to get myself to New York and get some time to see the exhibition, because things like this always fascinate me. I think it's not least because I'm descended from the "mysterious Scythians" myself, and I can never learn enough about culture and practices from the pre-Athenian era. Of course, given that much of what we do know is through hearsay and accounts like those of Herodotus, there's not all that much to glean, but the archaeology is just captivating...
