DENNY IS IN LOVE WITH ALAN! THEY PROVED THAT TONIGHT! HE'S IN LOOOOOOOOVE! Oh, how I love their love. Here I was thinking that this was going to be a craptacular episode with all the political drivel being spewed at me, and then in the last 10 minutes or so we get hit with THE MOST AMAZING AND INTENSE ALAN/DENNY YET! OMG! Their love is so touching, and tonight the writers basically came right out and said, "This is the greatest love that either of them will ever have. They will always choose each other over everyone else." OMG!
I'm not even going to talk about the rest of the episode, because seriously, it sucked big time. It was just, "LOOK AT US! WE HATE THE GOVERNMENT! BUSH SUCKS! AMERICAN DEMOCRACY SUCKS! THE DEMOCRATS SUCK FOR FIGHTING OVER HILARY AND OBAMA! THE REPUBLICANS SUCK FOR BEING REPUBLICANS! JUDGES ARE MORONS! LIBERAL LIBERAL LIBERAL LIBERAL LIBERAL! CAN YOU TELL THAT WE ARE FLAMING LIBERALS?" That pretty much sums up the two trials. Oh, and Tim Omundson was in there looking all sexy with his big hair and dark suits. WHERE WAS JERRY? JERRY WOULD HAVE MADE THIS EPISODE SO MUCH BETTER!
Anyway, you know what totally made up for the sucktitude? DENNY IS IN LOVE WITH ALAN! That's right. First off, I love Alan's insane jealousy over the fact that Denny can so easily fall in love (and he hates sharing Denny's love). Denny does this with just about every woman that he meets, and Alan was seriously wounded back when Denny married Bev. So this time, I am so ridiculously happy that Denny chose Alan over the woman. HE COULDN'T LEAVE ALAN! HE COULDN'T IMAGINE HIS LIFE WITHOUT HIM! HE WOULD RATHER DRINK SCOTCH AND SMOKE CIGARS WITH ALAN THAN MOVE TO MONTANA AND MARRY A WOMAN THAT HE LOVES! OMG! I just love the innocence on Denny's face when he realizes why he can't leave. His life is in Boston, meaning Alan. Not the job, Alan. I nearly died when he said, "There's someone else," and the girl thought that he was talking about another woman. And then Denny's acceptance when she points out that his love for Alan is stronger than the love that he had for her. And then the intensity on the balcony. OH MY GOD! That was the equivalent of Denny pouring his heart out. That was bigger than every single "I love you" that he has ever uttered on that balcony. That was him letting Alan know that he's his greatest love. And Alan's description of love, the conclusion that he came to where he said real, lasting love isn't romantic, and the intense eye contact between them, OH MY GOD!!!! They have their own little marriage of sorts, and it's just so darn beautiful, and I love that they fully acknowledge the depth of their love for each other. Neither can imagine their life without the other. SO BEAUTIFUL!!!!
