OMG, YOU GUYS!!! I AM IN LOVE WITH SOAMES FORSYTE!!! I DON'T CARE IF HE'S SLIMY, I LOVE HIM!!! First off, I recommend this show to anyone who enjoyed the BBC productions of Pride and Prejudice, North & South, Jane Eyre, and most especially Wives & Daughters. This series pulled me in right away with all the scandal and intrigue and absolute

I just have to say that your commentaries on the different scenes were hilarious! I don't usually come out with big laughs, but you had me cracking up when you were describing Soames' "Boardwalk Strolling Style," and Irene's comment about the gallery picture with her, "Blah, blahs." That's very much how she was to me - blah. Meanwhile, Soames was one passionate dude! I'll take his kiss on my bare forearm over some saintly peck on my gloved hand any day! LoL!
Oh, you're going to LOVE the rest of the series! There's a LOT more of, "Oh, no Soames! Why on earth did you say/do that?" And, "Don't say it...don't do it...*sigh*...he blew it again!" Poor guy.
I can't wait to read your commentary on the other episodes! Thanks for the smiles ~ Cinn

because he really did portray so many different emotions with, at times, the most subtle of expressions. He did this excellently well in his role as Major Winters in Band of Brothers.
Yes!!! This is what I love about Damian the most. He's a very visual actor. He likes to show rather than tell, and that has always been more effective with me. I just get so lost in his performances that my stomach ties up in knots and I start feeling everything that his characters are feeling. He just blows me away with his awesomeness.

Ha, I'm glad you find my comments amusing rather than insane! You may not feel the same way if you read my Band of Brothers commentary... But I agree with you about Irene. Ugh! She wrote him off as an idiot just because he wanted to put a painting in his hall. :'( He wanted to because it reminded him of her! OMG! How can she not see how quietly passionate he is? I'll take the subtle passion and loyal love of Soames over the emo spazzing and ridiculous metaphors of Bosinney any day.
Episode 2 hurt, episode 3 horrified me, and the first half of ep 4 killed me. :'( I really cannot wait for the rest of the episodes to arrive. I read the summary for series 2 though, so I know that Soames remarries and has kids, so I'm hoping that he gets over Irene and finds happiness with someone who actually appreciates him, but at the same time... I'm kind of enjoying his misery. I don't know, I love that he makes me squirm with all of his wrong decisions. Soames is such a wonderful character, I love him!
