are getting me so freaking invested in Lassiter/Juliet that I will be forever heartbroken if they don't get a happy ending. Shawn/Gus is a given, but Lassiter/Juliet was always my pipe dream ship, the one that I wasn't supposed to let into my heart. WHY ARE THEY DOING THIS TO ME? I want it SO BADLY!
I cannot cap or large-size font "Word" enough. Lassiter/Juliet started out as something I sort of daydreamed about, and now it's this sort of canonical (on his side, at least) viable thing. I keep thinking about the otherwise-bleh "Rob-a-Bye Baby" where Shawn and Juliet are pretending they are married. Juliet goes through her whole "Marriage is just an institution of the patriarchy...but here's the way I've planned everything." And Shawn is all *eyeroll* over it. But Juliet's high-maintenance nesting + Lassiter wanting kids? PERFECT SOLUTION! He would love her decorative bossiness! He would totally let her bury her placenta in the backyard!

But Juliet's high-maintenance nesting + Lassiter wanting kids? PERFECT SOLUTION! He would love her decorative bossiness! He would totally let her bury her placenta in the backyard!OH MY GOD!!! I was watching that ep this morning, and those were my thoughts exactly. Shawn is all eyerolly and squirmy, clearly indicating that he wants nothing of the sort, probably doesn't even want to get married at this point in time, let alone have a family, while Juliet had clearly put a lot of thought into it, and envisions having a family. Then think back to the ep where Lassiter was being all adorable holding Vick's baby and saying that he wanted kids. Coincidence that both Juliet and Lassiter's biggest desires for their future is to have a family? I think not! On first glance Rob-a-bye Baby is a Shawn/Juliet episode, trying to show how well they click, but when you look closer, they want completely different things, and we see that they aren't the great match that we are supposed to believe they are. In actuality, Juliet and Lassiter are

Even watching "Psy vs Psy" I managed to interpret Juliet's attraction to the jerky Special guy as inadvertently being attracted to Lassiter (because they were basically the same person, only Special was dark and muscley as opposed to being pale and lanky). But what she liked about him was his authority, and how good he was at his job (and yes, his body) and all this can be found in Lassiter (except for the body, but frankly, I'd rather get me a piece of the Lassie).
ZOMG, I totally, totally agree with all of this. When I rewatched that episode a few weeks ago, I was surprised I missed that underlying subtext, especially since Omundson called LDP's character an "uber-Lassiter."
If you have any questions like the one you had this morning, I might be good for a leg up. And as for fic, I have every faith that if your meta is this good, a fanfic will be brilliant.

Oh, thank you, thank you, thank you! You're awesome. Actually, I do have a question. There was a scene (I'm pretty sure from season 1) where Lassiter and Juliet are walking on a sidewalk and Lassie says something like, "Let's canvas the neighborhood" and Juliet tells him that was a good idea, and he thinks she's being sarcastic, then she thinks he's being sarcastic when he says thank you. Any idea which ep that is from, by any chance?

*blushes* I wish! The most I can hope for is mildly entertaining. Hee. I still love that fic you wrote about Lassie not being able to use Juliet's first name. Not that was brilliant. LOVE! But I do have an idea in my head that refuses to leave, mostly because you said you wanted to see some reciprocation from Juliet, so my head instantly went into fanfic mode.
HAHAHA I use my Michael Scott pen to write notes in class. (Actually I already ran the ink dry for one of them. I'm down to the last one!)
Omg, I didn't consider capital letters for numbers 3 and 4. I hate writing I's and G's. They always come out looking retarded in my opinion.
Also, you writing is not THAT messy. I have seen a lot worse! :P
PS: I totally support your Lassiet fanvid project and can't wait to see it. I also support you if you choose to write fanfic for the pairing! We can embark into the world of Psych fic together, or something. Omg am I actually seriously considering fanfic? I feel so out of my element when my fan contributions are not meta or fanart!
You MUST consider fanfic! You'll be awesome at it. Have you really never done fanfic before (aside from this morning's drabbles)? Because you nail characterizations in all of your memes (and metas), so it never even occurred to me that you've never been a fanfic writer. It is SO MUCH FUN! And can get very addicting. I never expected to write as many stories as I have, let alone for five different fandoms. This is my profile on ff.net (I don't think I've written for anything that you watch aside from The Office, and one's a crack pairing (Michael/Phyllis) while the others are Kandy). Just scroll past my massive biography and you'll see my fics. My early ones are atrocious, but... that can't be helped. All of my fics are pretty much experiments anyway. But yeah, you should definitely write some fic (for any pairing, but I'd love me some Shawn/Gus). I can't for the life of me write slash. I just plain suck at it.
When I was 17 and full of teenager cliche and angst, I dabbled in fanfic. Most of it was horrible, and I didn't so much finish the fics as I did put an END to them once I inevitably grew frustrated and bored with the stories. I have a lot of passion for deconstructing narratives. Constructing them on the other hand--I'm too impatient to iron out details, and too unsure of my abilities to bring the stories around cohesively. I know I'm a good fanartist. I feel footloose and fancy free contributing to that circle, but fanfic writing has always been intimidating and frankly scary for me! Admittedly this is because I never practice writing fiction lawl. I should practice if I want to improve.
I will definitely check out your ff.net profile! And omg, Michael/Phyllis hahaha. I'm intrigued. :P
Oh, I hear ya about being too impatient. With my early fics, I would always rush the ending because I got tired of working with them. And of course they would be the cheesiest endings known to man. That's why I try to keep myself from doing multi-chaptered fics now. I do much better with the oneshots, or the two parters, because you can leave those open for interpretation, whereas with a multi-chapter fic, you actually have to, you know, create a solid ending. I almost succeeded in making a well-rounded story with "Just Betty", but I'm afraid that I rushed that ending too (but the fic was 23 chapters long, so I was like, "Okay, enough is enough, I'm putting Daniel out of his misery.")
Your handwriting is messy, but I think it's still a lot better than mine! I never learned to grip a pencil the right way (I hold my thumb way too high and squeeze too tight) Cursive will be a dead art in a generation or two, starting with us.
