The Hangover!

Just watched it. Ed was amazing. And adorable. And awesome. And wonderful. I LOVE HIM. But... Alan was actually my favorite character, not Stu. But Ed was still adorable! I love that dude. Hard. But he didn't really get to be the him that I love till towards the end, and in the first half of the film everyone is such a dick to him that I just kept getting all sadface because he was being such a sweetheart and everyone's walking all over him. I swear, he makes me feel for him so freaking much no matter what character he's playing. He's just got that innocent thing down pat. But then he started being obnoxious and hilarious and I kind of love that, so it's all good. Bradley Cooper's character? I honestly thought that I would despise him, which I did at first, but as the film went on I actually liked him.

The film had me laughing all the way through, but there was nothing that got me laughing like a lunatic, so while I enjoyed it, I didn't particularly think it was as good as everyone is saying it is. Perhaps my expectations were just too big because of all the positive reviews out there, or maybe I just need to watch it a few more times, because there is a LOT going on in this film that probably takes a few rewatches to properly appreciate. But I'm never big on films that show boobs just for the sake of showing boobs, and I have this inexplicable aversion to Heather Graham (and her boobs, apparently), so... I don't know. I still prefer stuff like Anchorman and Talladega Nights. Was never big on Old School and Wedding Crashers (or Superbad or 40 Year Old Virgin or Knocked Up). I don't know. Do I just not like comedies that have actual plots and tight writing? I guess so. Well, it's not that I don't like all those films that I listed, because I've watched them all repeatedly, I just don't like them as much as I like Anchorman and Talladega Nights.

ANYWAY, The Hangover was good fun, but not sure if it's one that I'll watch endlessly. If Ed wasn't in it, I'd probably just watch it once and that would be that. But since Ed is in it, I'll probably watch it a billion times and it will eventually grow on me and I'll probably end up ranking it up there with Anchorman, because I am wishy washy like that. But the best part of the film was definitely this song:

I was so happy that was actually in the film and not just done for the teasers (although that last clip with the tiger in the elevator isn't in the film, and I loved that clip). But anyway, I think I'm saying that The Hangover was good? Yes. It was good. A top favorite of mine? No. But still pretty awesome.

Also, I am sad that people are dissing Will Ferrell just because Land of the Lost was a total dud. I STILL LOVE YOU, WILL! YOU ARE MY MAN! You just... kind of suck at picking movie roles that you didn't write yourself. I am still traumatized by Semi-Pro. That movie was awful. If they're going to diss Will, it should be over that movie. Of course, I haven't seen Land of the Lost yet, but it can't possibly be worse than Semi-Pro. And let's not forget Bewitched. *shudder* See, I think LotL probably suffered in the same way that Bewitched did. It just wasn't the right fit for Will's comedy. The bits of Bewitched where Will was able to do his usual brand of comedy were hilarious, but so very out of place, and the bits where he had to do the scripted comedy were just kind of meh. It's probably the same with LotL. I don't even know what happened with Semi-Pro. That one was just awful all around. I'm sorry Will, but it's true. But I still love you. Just go back to SNL and stay there forever and ever, because I can't seem to enjoy SNL without you there. I know it's been 7 years, but still. I miss you on there. A lot.
