OMG I just. I keep watching this video instead of doing my homework. It's like a trailer for an Uther/Morgana movie which is like A DREAM COME TRUE. (And here is where I am squeeing again and, wtf, you have made me so damn... not wordy. Argh.)

I just. I think a REALLY good vid maker can edit footage to capture the essence of something, or even make something else out of it entirely because they're just that good at manipulating footage. And dude, somehow you've done both: You've captured the inherent ridiculously hot, train wreck tragedy of U/M while at the same time making it look like all the potential that we shippers see in the pairing is canon. I mean, if I hadn't seen Merlin? I'd think the show was all about political intrigue and desperate, passionate sex (because the bit where he kisses her when she's in the bed LOOKS LIKE AN ACTUAL KISS SOMEHOW when the images goes so fast and omfg eee), and backstabbing, and LOVE and... okay, I'd just assume

HEE! I was trying to go for that, and if I was more talented/had the technical capabilities I would have been doing voice overs and words and whatnot, but WMM won't let me separate the voice from clips and move them around. SO NOT FAIR! And I am too clueless to work fancy programs that will allow you to do that. So I am glad that it still managed to have the feel of a sort of trailor.

Their so intense, and hot, and AMAZING and you captured it, and just YAY! (except also sad and *tear* cause it is also dramatic, and they're angry, and it's grrr betrayal, and I kinda want them to be happy but they never will be). You captured them so brilliantly, I loved it when the clips started going fast, you chose some great scenes, and it was just, guh, I LOVED IT! Thank you.

WOO, nice! There is some really good quick editing at the end that captures the passion and betrayal of the ship very well. And I quite like your use of the sepia filter. It effectively distinguishes the technicolor here-and-now of Uther's speech from the past events he refers to. One thing that kind of hinders the vid's flow for me, though, is that the vid has multiple Uther/Morgana reaction shots in succession--like, U reaction/M reaction/U/M/U/M. Editing them together lessens the impact I think you might have wanted to convey? Because while U/M/U/M/U/M is an effective way to visually convey tension, back-and-forth oscillations also visually convey uncertainty. Like waffling. And I think the thing about the Uther/Morgana ship is that there is a very definite edge of betrayal and anger hanging between them. One reaction shot is really all you'll need to convey that. Filling the rest of the musical ... uhhhh space with visual accompaniment that isn't just reaction shots can be a bit of a pain, but it's possible.

Oh man, I am so big on patterns that I have trouble not doing that U/M/U/M thing. I think I tried to break away from that towards the end and I was like, "IT BREAKS THE PATTERN! *twitch*" I completely agree with you though, so I don't know why I'm so OCD about it. I had originally envisioned throwing in action shots, but then I got so caught up in showing Morgana and Uther making angry/shocked faces at each other. *facepalm* Also, I'm glad the sepia tone worked! I was having second thoughts about it after I was long finished with the vid.

You're welcome! And yeah, I noticed a decrease in the U/M/U/M toward the end. I thought it looked lovely. But, I can't entirely blame you for making long sequences of Uther and Morgana looking angry at each other. Those were some pretty smoking looks they cast in one another's direction. ;)

ALSO, love the new header. Newish header? Clearly I need to VISIT LIVEJOURNAL more often.

Those were some pretty smoking looks they cast in one another's direction.WEREN'T THEY? How people can still call this relationship purely father/daughter is beyond me. There's way too much passion there. Which is probably just the actors being their sexy selves, but I don't even care. It's there. And the writers waffle between making them father/daughter-ish and husband/wife-ish, so I will just eat up the subtext even if they refuse to acknowledge it. But... I don't think they exactly deny it either, no one's really asked them about it (too taboo, I guess). It's a family show, so there's only so much they can admit to. I'm actually shocked that they fully acknowledge the Merlin/Arthur gay subtext and encourage people to keep looking for it, because, you know, it's a family show, and parents go a little crazy when it comes to gay subtext in the shows their children watch. Like SpongeBob
