No Future for You

So... volume 2 in the season 8 Buffy comics. I read it in one sitting, I seriously could not put it down (and my nephew and the hot weather tired me out today, so I was in the mood to just lounge around tonight and read something). This one was SO MUCH BETTER than The Long Way Home. It actually had a coherent arc, Giles was very prominent, and I ( Read more... )

I have to admit my OTP for Buffy if I had to chose would be Buffy/Faith, and that is the only reason I have even the faintest clue what you're talking about as I don't read the comics.

Buffy/Faith is definitely intriguing. It just saddens me so immensely that once Faith turned bad, Buffy couldn't forgive her, and yet Faith pretty much forgave her for almost killing her, and in fact still loves her quite a bit (not that she forgave her right away, it took switching bodies and spending a lot of time in prison pondering her life to forgive Buffy, but still, she forgave her). Buffy knows that if she had made different choices (and hadn't had Giles) she could have ended up just like Faith. And once Faith realized that Buffy had to work for all her blessings and didn't just have everything handed to her, Faith also realized that if she had made different choices, she could have been Buffy. And they both hate themselves so much that they end up hating each other, but at the same time, they feel this connection that they can't ignore. Oooooh, I love them. If I didn't love Buffy/Giles so much, Buffy/Faith probably would have ended up being my OTP. But I still feel like Buffy's most important connection is her ( ... )

I've come to the conclusion that every Rascal Flatts song ever was written about Giles/Buffy. Seriously. I will prove it to you tomorrow.

I love that you managed to connect something that's completely unrelated to Buffy...well, to Buffy. It's very Charlie Crews of you, Firthy. =D

I look forward to this all-revealing post.

I just finished watching the entire series of Buffy (for the gazillionth time), and even though a Buffy/Giles romance never occurred to me until I started reading your LJ, now that I DO consider the possibility, I have to say season seven REALLY pissed me off. I can't believe that Buffy favoured Spike over Giles in this season. What a joke! *Reminds self to breathe* lol Now that I've vented... After reading your thoughts on the second issue of the Buffy comic, I'm thinking I might buy a copy and check it out for myself. The comic will substitute for my lack of Buffy eps to watch, and hopefully prevent me from going through serious Buffy withdrawals. Have you been watching Free Agents?

HEE! I love that I've opened up your eyes to the beauty that is Buffy/Giles! And, yeah, season 7 hurts. A lot. Oooooh, how they destroyed their relationship. :'( And I definitely rec No Future For You, it was wonderful. I had read some people saying it was awful, but damn, I thought it was great (certainly ions better than The Long Way Home, which I guess is blasphemy because Joss wrote the script for The Long Way Home and someone else wrote the script for No Future For You, but... I like what I like).

Who are the other two people who truly understand the depth of Giles' love for Buffy, in your opinion? Buffy/Giles is my second OTP of all time, and I've read almost all of your posts on my stupid, dumb idiots :)
