30 Rock was made of so much win tonight. OMG I LOVE THIS SHOW! AND THAT LARRY GUY WAS REALLY SEXY! Seriously. I know most of my f-list has endlessly sung the praises of Alec Baldwin's current hair, BUT IT'S THE HOTTEST HAIR EVER! HE MUST NEVER CHANGE IT! OMG SO SEXY! I um... I don't usually fangirl over Baldwin, but he looked really good tonight. Particularly when
he saved Liz from being Carried. That was a beautiful, beautiful moment and it warmed my heart like crazy. HE LOVES HER SO MUCH! SO MUCH! Yeah, yeah, "platonic", but it's still love. He saved her after she was so utterly cruel to him. She's terribly insensitive quite often, but that rarely bothers him because he's just as insensitive. They are so made for each other. And, even though the closet scene wasn't supposed to be sexy in the least, I still found it sexy? I don't know what's wrong with me. I think I just like seeing them fight. And Liz making Jack cry.
Liz doing the "Diana" (or whatever the girl's name was) and the reveal of the girl's leg brace was so freaking hilarious. I was gasping for breath after that one. It was so stupid, and yet it was my favorite part. Also, the first gay guy that Liz ever kissed. LOVED HIM! Especially when she made him so angry he had to dance. Bwahahaha. And the stuff Liz told Jack on the plane, SO FREAKING HILARIOUS! Especially the bit about seeing her grandparents and not looking away. The best part about everything that happened in this episode? Jack saw Liz at her worst, and he still adores her. She's his best friend. He couldn't even let her be Carried. SO FREAKING SWEET!
Also, I loved the Tracy/Kenneth/Jenna subplot. I know the reviews said it was lame, but I thought it was pretty freaking hilarious. Oh, Kenneth and his nonsensical-jokes popularity. I LOVE HIM!!!!! I pretty much love any Kenneth/Tracy storyline, but add Jenna/Tracy to the mix? Even better.
The Office was a bit of a mess. It was... well, I enjoyed it, but it felt weird. Disjointed, maybe? Like, a lot of the office stuff fell flat, but the Andy/Dwight/Angela beet farm stuff was making me laugh ridiculously hard and I was wishing the entire episode was about them. But at the same time, I wanted to strangle Dwight and shake him like a bobblehead. In fact, I was wishing I had a Dwight bobblehead purely so that I could shake the hell of that thing.
ARGH! DWIGHT! DAMN IT! YOU WERE SO FREAKING CLOSE! SO CLOSE! AND THEN YOU SCREWED IT UP BY BEING THE INSENSITIVE JERK THAT YOU ARE! ARGH! YOU MAKE IT SO HARD FOR A WOMAN TO LOVE YOU! AND YET BY SOME MIRACLE WE DO! YOU ARE A PLAGUE TO OUR SOULS, DAMN IT! ARGH! When he was giving Angela such a smug look, I thought he was going to reject her. I was yearning for it. I got my hopes up like an idiot. If there's one thing I've learned this past season, it's to never get my hopes up about The Office. Never. And what did I do? I hoped that there would be a glorious scene of Smug Dwight telling Angela that it was fun, but he's over her. Instead we got Dwight tricking her into marrying him right when she was ready to dump Andy and marry him the right way. DWIGHT! I SHOULD HAVE KNOWN YOU'D DO THIS! IT'S SO... YOU! ARGH! And poor Andy is left stepping in poop all day long and having no idea what's going on. ANDY! HOW CAN YOU STILL NOT SEE THAT OSCAR IS YOUR TRUE LOVE? Um... I mean... HOW CAN YOU NOT SEE THAT DWIGHT AND ANGELA ARE IN LOVE? Also, I kind of maybe squeed really hard when Andy said his threesome line. Oh god. He was looking at Dwight suggestively. He was. Really. More proof of Andy's repressed gayness. Remember Michael accusing him of having a crush on Dwight in Traveling Salesman (may have been deleted scene)? I'm pretty sure this proves it. It does. Really. Not really. ANDY'S FACE AFTER ANGELA MADE OUT WITH HIM IN PUBLIC, OMG!!!!!!!!! ANDY, I LOVE YOU! SO MUCH! I only hope that this perpetuates the creation of many Oscar/Andy fics where Oscar looks on in complete misery, and he's tortured because he wants Andy to be happy, but at the same time, he wants it to be with him, and not Angela, and HIS HEART IS BREAKING! This has to be written. Now. Please?
Okay, the office story. Cute, but kind of boring. There should have been more Oscar/Pam fighting. I'm not sure how I feel about Pam complimenting Michael's ass. Toby was HILARIOUS, as always, and I'd be lying if I said I didn't wish that Toby was the one faux complimenting Michael's ass. I don't know. Were there less talking heads in this ep? Something just felt off. But the office scenes were totally worth it for the payoff at the end. MICHAEL SITTING IN HIS FUR COAT OMG!!!!!! SO FREAKING HILARIOUS! AND THEN THE BLOOD! Bwahahahahaha. Oh, Michael. You will never win when you try to please everyone and no one. WHEN WILL YOU LEARN? Oh god, that scene was hilarious. What does he need a fur coat for, anyway? Where on earth is he going to wear it? Ooooh, Michael, stupid things like this is why I love you so much. &hearts
Ugly Betty was so so good. Not much on the D/B front, but Betty/Amanda? I love them more and more each episode. I'm betting at least 10 femmeslash fics will pop up after this ep. They were amazing, and if I wasn't so invested in Daniel/Betty, I would now call Amanda/Betty the real OTP. But Daniel/Betty owns me, so I can't. I just really, really love how the show has progressed the Amanda/Betty relationship, and they've done it so organically that I can barely believe this is the same show I was watching last season. ALL of the relationships are being developed at a good pace, no characters are getting neglected, and everything ties together into one complete story instead of a disjointed episode. I am loving this season so very much.
I'm not digging Daniel/Molly, but I am happy that the writers are taking time to show us reasons why they like each other instead of just throwing them together. They're getting to know each other, and for once it's NOT about the sex. This is huge for Daniel. Also, Molly is a fairly likable character, but she is SO much like Betty that I just want to slap Daniel and tell him the ONLY reason he likes her so much is because she reminds him of Betty, and why work so hard to get a substitute when you can try for the real thing? Seriously, man! But I don't want Daniel/Betty to happen this early, so naturally I am contending with myself because I know Molly is the perfect stepping stone to Daniel realizing that Betty's the one he wants, but Molly is so sickeningly perfect for Daniel's current ideals that it's bugging me. She's like Daniel's version of Henry. Ugh. But the D/B subtext, man. The clumsiness and the spilling food on her dress and not caring? So Betty. Even her dialog is Betty-ish. HOW CAN DANIEL NOT SEE THIS? Also, I know everyone's been complaining about Betty's wardrobe, but I have to get my complaints in too. BLERG! GO BACK TO THE OLD COSTUMER! PLEASE! Betty is supposed to slowly be getting better at dressing, not worse. Her outfits are simply horrid now rather than just mismatched. The puffy sleeves on her dress were so damn distracting that I had trouble paying attention to the scene. Plus, I miss Daniel's suits. And Marc's.
Oh! Also, Claire slapping Daniel was wonderful. THANK YOU, CLAIRE! And Wilhelmina being flummoxed was awesome. I love that they've made Wilhelmina human again. During season 2 she had turned into such a caricature that it was sad. Now she's back to being awesome. &hearts
And, because this post is lacking in Anthony Head, I give you:
