You know how I said that I liked Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles better than the actual movies? I lied. I totally lied. I just rewatched T2 for the first time in YEARS, and... I don't think I've ever seen the movie in its entirety before. IT WAS SO FREAKING AMAZING AND PERFECT IN EVERY WAY! I REDACT MY PREVIOUS STATEMENT! But I don't redact it about T1 or T3. Although, I'm loading T3 right now for a rewatch, so I'll have to see, but I remember it being pretty much like the show, only with a much more boring storyline. But... I forgot how awesome Arnold was as the terminator. I just want to squish him to my chest. Particularly in the end when he says that he knows now why people cry. Oh, my heart! Seriously, why did I not know how awesome this movie was? It was beautiful.
I also watched T1, which I also had never watched in its entirety, and I wish I never had. It was everything that I hate about 80s sci-fi movies. Ick. Bad acting, bad effects, bad music, bad hair, bad dialog, bad plot, bad love story. Bad bad bad. And it had the compulsory 80's sex scene with cheesy music and lots of heavy breathing and BOOBIES! The only bit I really liked was when Arnold says, "I'll be back." But I had to watch it, because now I know all that Kyle Reese backstory that the show is always talking about, and it made all the references in T2 funnier, and now I know all the references that the show made (like, "Come with me if you want to live," which was used in both films).
Anyway, the first Terminator was terrible. But the second one was freaking awesome, and even a little heartwrenching, and oooooh how Arnold made the terminator such a lovable creature. I particularly loved when he picked up the baby by its overall straps and looked at with curiosity. Hee.
So, I'm all caught up with the backstory and will be able to keep up with the other Terminator geeks now. Yay! And speaking of T:TSCC, the premiere was pretty awesome, bad a tad bit ridiculous. Well, you know, more ridiculous than usual. Like, I was actually saying out loud, "Are the Connors really that stupid? I don't remember them being that stupid." But, I guess they were just setting up the plot lines for the season. But none of that matters, because Cromartie and Ellison were AWESOME! Hot and subtexty as usual. Cromartie needs Ellison. Ellison called him the devil. But they so love each other. It's true. Cromartie's bed-head is too hard to resist. I'd do a screencap analysis of all the man/cyborg love, but I can't find screencaps ANYWHERE, and I'm too lazy to do the Hulu print screen paste into photoshop thing tonight. But trust me, they love each other.
