I just saw ep 8 of Burn Notice, AND I HEARD TOBY ZEIGLER'S VOICE!!!!! IT WAS TOBY! OMG! It had to be him. It was him, right? I'm being lazy, aren't I? I could just go to Richard Schiff's IMDb page and find out. But I recognized the voice once he started shouting. OMG, TOOOOOOBY! It has to be him. *snuggles Toby and gets scratched by his beard* OMG TOBY! IT WAS TOBY ZEIGLER! Dang, getting this excited over a voice on the phone? I think that means that I need to take a break from NCIS and go back to watching the rest of The West Wing. But first I need to finish Burn Notice, because it looks like Hulu is going to remove the eps tomorrow morning (I guess in order to make room for season 2).
So, I was really starting to dig Burn Notice there for awhile, the plots were getting more interesting, the overall mystery was getting more intense, the action was getting more kickass, Fiona called Sam cute, Michael took his shirt off some more... but then Fiona and Michael decided to start dating again, and my enjoyment level plummeted greatly (until I heard Toby's voice). UGH! I loved how Michael was very against getting involved with her again because he truly believes that he's better off alone, but then he went and caved, and now Fiona has descended into a whiny, needy girlfriend instead of a badass ex-girlfriend who likes to play with his head and kick his ass. And now Michael is all "Oh, I need to please her. Oh noes! She's flirting with another man! Grrrr. Oh, I love her. But it's wrong. But it's right. But it's wrong. I really suck at these romantic scenes because I have close to zero chemistry with Fiona. Except when we're beating each other up and I have no shirt on. But then I have to go back to that emotion crap, and I end up rivaling Keanu Reeves for worst acting. But no one cares, because I'm hot without my shirt. Oh, wait... what was the point of this show again? Oh yeah, who burned me?" Please tell me that Michael/Fiona is extremely short-lived and they go back to being platonic buddies, and Fiona decides to makeout with Sam because he looks adorable in a suit?
Anyway, I'm enjoying the show, but it doesn't elicit much excitement out of me. :/ Yes, yes, I know. How can I be SO enthusiastic over In Plain Sight, which has shaky writing and sucky plots and underdeveloped supporting characters, while I'm just "Eh, it's a fun show" over Burn Notice, which has an extremely interesting premise, well developed plots, adorable comedy, awesome supporting characters, Jeffery Donovan without a shirt, and kickass action? *sigh* You can't choose who you love, apparently. I guess I love In Plain Sight because the relationships are really well-written, while the rest of the show sometimes comes off as an after-thought, and I am most definitely a relationship person when it comes to my TV shows. Ugly Betty is a great example of my devotion to a show with amazing relationships and the suckiest plots in the universe. Anyway, Burn Notice is fun. I fall more and more in love with Sam every episode.
