STANTE, MAURICE JAMES, 82, of St. Petersburg, died Friday (Oct. 1, 2004) at home. Born in Toronto, he moved here in 1978 from Lafayette Hills, Pa. He was a retired telephone installer and an Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of the DAV and the Telephone Retired Workers Association. Survivors include his wife of 16 years, Veronica K.; three sons, James M., Pensacola, Richard D., Lansdale, Pa., and Glenn D., Lafayette Hills, Pa.; a daughter, Charlotte Haslam, Norristown, Pa.; a stepdaughter, Linda Fairman, Safety Harbor; two half brothers, Val Stante, Ocala, and Leonard Holt, Toronto; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Anderson-McQueen Funeral & Cremation Centers-N.E. St. Petersburg.
