Character name: Llyrewyn Shepard
Fandom: Mass Effect
Timeline: Post suicide mission (Collector base destroyed), entire team lives
Age: 28
~*Magical*~ abilities and strengths: Shepard is trained in the use of firearms, particularly sniper rifles, and can hack into AI controlled robots even in the thick of combat. She can also cloak herself, effectively turning invisible for a few seconds. After being rebuilt by the Lazarus Project, her body is much more resistant than an average human's,
How would they use their abilities?: Shepard would use it to protect other people that aren't capable of helping themselves and fighting bad guys (i.e people who start shooting at her). She'll also use her tech abilities to help do whatever work is needed on the station.
Appearance: Shepard has short black hair that reaches to her neck with her fringe brushed to the left. She has grey eyes and on missions, is typically found in her black N7 armor or Blood Dragon armor. On casual occasions, she will wear her crewman's outfit, which is a black and white ensemble with the Cerberus insignia stamped prominently on the sleeves.
Face Armors Background/Personality:
Shepard was a spacer kid - she spent her entire life moving between stations and colonies as her parents were continually assigned to different ships. Due to this, she was exposed to people from all walks of life, and it helped her mentally mature faster. There wasn't any point to her having any relationships because she was going to leave sooner or later, so she never did try.
Eventually, on her 18th birthday, Shepard decided to follow in her parents' footsteps and joined the Alliance military. After training, she was assigned onto a ship near Elysium in the Skyllian Verge. It was during then that she earned a reputation as a hero.
Shepard was on shore leave on Elysium when batarian pirates and slavers launched an attack on the colony, intending to destroy it. Shepard rallied the marines and the civillians to fight back, and almost singlehandedly fended off the batarians until reinforcements arrived. She was awarded the Star of Terra for her role during the Skyllian Blitz, and her superiors were impressed with the way she organised the resistance and her own combat capabilities. She was thus sent for training in an elite program; the N7 Special Ops.
After her graduation from the program, she was assigned onto the SSV Normandy as Executive Officer, the second in command. The Normandy went to Eden Prime on its shakedown run, but she learned from Captain Anderson and Nihlus Kryik that the mission was more than it seemed. A Prothean beacon had been found on Eden Prime and it was her task to retrieve it. Nihlus had also been on the ship for another reason; he was to evaluate her candidacy for the Spectres, an elite group working directly for the galactic government that is free to do anything as long as it preserved galactic stability.
However, things did not go as planned. The colony came under attack, and she learnt that the geth, a synthetic robot race, had attacked, led by a Spectre named Saren Arterius. After she intervened to protect one of her team mates from being sucked to the beacon, she received a vision of warning. Shepard travelled to the Citadel and gathered evidence to convince the Council to strip Saren of his title, which then gave her Spectre status and the captaincy of the Normandy, and she pursued leads on the geth and Saren. On Saren's breeding facility on Virmire, she met Sovereign, a Reaper who had already bent much of Saren's will towards its own. She set a nuke to destroy the facility, but as the geth start pouring in, Shepard was forced to give up Kaidan Alenko to save Ashley Williams, a decision that would haunt her.
Using the information she had gained on her travels, Shepard tracks down Saren to Ilos, where she learns from an ancient Prothean VI that he had already used a mini mass relay built by the Protheans to travel to the Citadel, and also gets a file from it that would give her temporary control of the Citadel. She goes through the relay as well, just as the Citadel comes under attack from a geth fleet and Sovereign. She commands the human fleet to save the ship that the Council had escaped on, and Saren confronts her at the Council Chambers. She talks to Saren and appeals to what's left of him; he thanks her and shoots himself. She uses the file to take control of the Citadel - however, Sovereign takes control of Saren through his cybernetic implants and she defeats the Husk-Saren. After the battle, humanity is invited to a seat on the Council, and she nominates Captain Anderson for the role as Councilor.
A month later, the Normandy is patrolling to destroy the last of the geth. An unknown ship appears and makes quick work of the Normandy; Shepard is killed rescuing Joker, the pilot of the Normandy. Her body is retrieved by the Shadow Broker, who tries to sell it to the Collectors, an race working for the Reapers, but Liara and her friend takes back the body from them and gives it to Cerberus, a pro-human organisation. She is rebuilt via the Lazarus Project, and she escapes from the station the project was on after it comes under attack.
After arriving on a headquarters of Cerberus, the leader, the Illusive Man, tasks her with finding out the cause of the vanishing human colonies. She ascertains that the Collectors are behind it, and recruits a team to strike them at their base. The Illusive Man tells her about the location of a Collector dreadnought - on the ship, she learns that the Collectors were the Protheans, extensively modified and enslaved by the Reapers to do their bidding. She also learns that the Collectors' homeworld was in the galactic core, accessible by the Omega 4 Relay, but safe to traverse only with a Reaper IFF. She salvages the IFF from a derelict Reaper and installs it in the Normandy.
After the Collectors abducted everyone on the Normandy while the entire squad was away for a mission, Shepard decides to head directly for the Collector homeworld without any delay to save her crew. While in the base, she learns that the humans were being abducted to create a new Reaper. She destroys the Reaper in creation and against the Illusive Man's wishes, she destroys the Collector base and not only escapes alive, everyone else on her team lives through the suicide mission as well.
PERSONALITY: Shepard is an easy going person, who doesn't really care much about the regulations. As captain of the Normandy, as long as the crew members do their job and work well with each other, she doesn't mind what they get up to. She's also quite tolerant, inviting human and alien alike onto joining her squad and the Normandy. As far as she's concerned, the aliens are just like humans.
Shepard is nice. She cares deeply for the people under her command and takes the extra step of helping her crew mates settle whatever lingering issues they might have, although this is also motivated by pragmatism. She'll do whatever it takes to make sure they're alive and well. To civilians, she is polite and hears them out, settling things in a peaceful manner, although she won't be a doormat to people who offend her. While she's dedicated to getting the job done, she won't do anything that are against her morals.
Shepard has a strong practical streak. She prefers to settle things with words, but when things get dicey she wouldn't hesitate to gun diplomacy. She shows little mercy to her enemies and if she does, she usually tells them to scram before she regrets her decision. She recruits whatever help she can get in preparation to fight the Reapers, even working with organisations like Cerberus, as although they are terroristic, they are the only people who believe that the Reapers are a threat and doing something about the vanishing human colonies.
Have you read up on how the game works?: Yes! You can get money through missions, stealing or workan. Also, ~~**FLAMING FERRET**~~

Okay. I'm on a station. Not too bad, I've spent most of my life on one.
This station is just so... well, weird. I haven't seen most of the mechanisms or machines on this station before, and I *know* stations. They don't interface with the omnitool, which means I actually have to take it open and rummage in whatever's inside. Maybe I should ask Tali to teach me something like that.
I can't believe it, though.
The Normandy blew up for the second time.
Again.
At least everyone got out in the escape pods.
No use complaining about it, Lly. I've got a job to do and it's getting off this station and back to Citadel space, pronto. Hell, even batarian space sounds good at this point. Just anywhere with a mass relay.

"Ugh."
The first thing Shepard noticed when she opened her eyes was that someone seemed to have draped something over her face. She pulled it off and saw that someone had put a towel on her head. She narrowed her eyes. Did someone think that this was some kind of a joke?
She was lying on a hard surface, and she realised that she was in her armor. She sat up immediately; bad move. Her entire body hurt, as if a krogan had decided to use her as a punching bag. Well, some medi-gel should fix that...
Medi-gel. Healing. Team mates...?
She looked around to see if there was anyone else. There were people, but not people she could recognise. There was a book though, and her Widow sniper rifle. Not her pistol, not her SMG, but the 39 kilograms Widow. The one that ordinary humans would shatter their arm firing.
Talk about priorities.
She picked up the book and looked at it: it was more accurate to call it a datapad with a whole lot of buttons on. The book cheerfully told her to not panic. Well, she was definitely not panicking. She would not panic a lot more if her crew mates were with her and she knew where she was.
Out of curiosity, she brought up her omni-tool, and was surprised to see it loading up a map of the area. The omni-tool showed directions to some place - she didn't know where, but it was the only lead she was going to have at the moment.
Shepard took a while to get all her things, and then trooped off to wherever the directions might take her.
Questions?: If Shepard can bring along some of her things, can she take her pistol and her armor along with her?
