the characters' movement was indistict but alluring, like fish beneath the ice

I went swing dancing last night with sarah, meg, and lydia. it was very nice to see them. meg and i walked in the park today.
then an orthodox priest from up the street came and blessed our house. he just randomly called yesterday to ask if he could come bless it. i really like them. he came with some silent bearded seminary students. I wonder what they thought of my house/protestant family. he had this big basil stalk and he dipped soaked it in holy water and splashed the corners of every room and every person. he definately drenches. i like it. He sang this Theophany chant. my mom was a bit pushy about wanting to sing this other song too--one that we knew. but he handled it well and we did a mixture.
there is something wonderful about physical traditions. somehow, it adds a rounded dimention to the generally intellectual reformed way. it appeals to the senses, but not in some emotional-high sort of way. it makes it more of a whole-person activity.
i know just what meg means about the oberlin kosher house.
