[I am repeatedly saying I should practice my French, then repeatedly putting it off. The recent embarrassing fiasco at Lana Kilmartin's site delivered the swift kick in the butt I needed. If nothing else, this post should amuse those watching my attempts at re-learning a language I haven't used in over 10 years. :p]

Okay, I'm gonna switch to French, but feel free to tell me if I should go back to English.
So, did you manage to understand everything or do you have a headache?

Oui, tres bien, merci!

[No excuses. I KNOW you know as much as I do, since we went to the same school. Besides, you were the one who actually went to France. :p
I have the same problem--I can read French perfectly, but speaking it is much more difficult. Writing is even more difficult, and typing is nearly impossible (I just found out how to type the accents over the weekend, and still can't find the word for "to type." This dictionary could use some serious improvement. *sigh*) Perhaps it is the way we learned it, with all those useless conversation tapes. It's similar to the way Suzuki prepares you for playing a song after having heard it once, but never trains you to sight-read well. I'm hoping some language immersion will help.]

Well, you can simply use "faire", or even "taper".
And thanks for the link to the list, I was actually wondering how you had managed that ;)

We should try some audio chat someday ;)

(I think you can probably see that... grammar is not in order here...)
