The Hunchback of Notre Dame, part 1 of 2 3pm-4pm

A collaboration between the BBC and Graeae, the disabled-led theatre company. This dramatisation has involved disabled writers and a cast that includes leading Deaf actor David Bower (Sign Dance Collective, Four Weddings and a Funeral) as Quasimodo and up-and-coming Romany actress and writer Candis Nergaard as Esmeralda.
1/2. Quasimodo, the hunchbacked deaf outcast, hides away in the bell tower of Notre Dame Cathedral, friendless and ashamed of his appearance. When the bewitching gypsy Esmeralda arrives in Paris, Quasimodo falls in love with her from afar.
