Zero's eyes positively gleamed with glee at the invitation -- unfortunately, he barely stalked three paces closer to Needle before Blues grabbed him by the hair.
"Pull him apart and Xavier will have fits for days. Can't you behave at least once?"
"Xavier won't know and he just left it wide open. Let go, old man."
"Stopped by the prototype. And you're the one that took out so many of our Joes? Tch. Why don't you ask me something significant so I can get back to the base."
Armouring up in moments, Blues fired up his dash function and launched himself into the middle of the fray and right into Zero's path. The needles grazed his back and drew out sparks and fluid -- and Zero pulled up short as solidly as if he'd run into a wall.
The silent staredown, eyes locked, between the two looked eerily as if Blues was hypnotizing him. Or something.
Whatever it was, Zero eventually jerked his head away and slunk back to his previous vantage-point. Spitting a multicultural string of curses, Blues flicked the tails of his scarf over his back and turned to face the Robot Masters.
Rockman hissed, forcing himself to lower his buster and release the tension that had built up.
"Sure. But this time make sure to keep your-" Star cut Needle off by walking in front of him, shield still up. "That's enough, Needleman. Shadow may be gone but that does not mean you can act in this way. It will not be tolerated." Then he turned back to Blues. "Yes, that would be wonderful. But if I may, I'd like Needle to return home. It's not my place to give him orders but I can see he isn't going to be very helpful here."
"Thank you." Turning back to Needle, Star simply told him to leave, to which other bot had no complaints over.
"Now I think that stunt grants you, at the very least, the answer to the question you asked him. Needle was chipping away at some rubble from a collapsed wall back home. Crash had gotten a little carried away..."
Then, as if he'd been there the whole time, Quickman was standing by Rock II and prodding him in the head with a finger.
"Crash is being overeager, is he? Why am I not surprised?"
Despite everything, Blues was quirking a smile again; he couldn't help himself.
"I suppose it's time to get down to basics; have you and yours heard or seen anything that could be relevant to our search for Blues?"
Blues didn't flinch -- much -- as Quickman arrived. But Zero twitched and snarled briefly, hair bristling like a cat's warning, though he stayed in place and made no sign of planning to attack the speedy bot.
At the snarl, Quick jumped along with spewing some high speed gibberish before zipping behind Star. He continued to talk a mile a minute, shoving a disk at Star when Blues asked his question, then pointing at Rock II and presumably asking his own. Heat was the first to answer. "Going to fast, Quick, can't understand you."
It was only through great self-control that Blues was snickering at Quick's antics. Some things certainly never changed ... not that he understood the speedy bot either, but it was funny as hell.
Zero's expression of utter confusion was also funny as hell.
But Rockman thought he'd give a question a go anyway. "Just where were you the last time we had this little meeting, Needle?"
"Tch. My job, what else."

Zero padded a little closer, checking out the new arrival.
"What job?"
Reply
"Is that information really crucial to your investigation?"
Reply
"I just want to know if you're edible or not."
"ZERO!!"
Reply
Needle was unamused. "I'd like to see you try," he growled.
The other Wilybots quietly look to each other; they were not touching this one.

Tearing away from Blues with a roar of outrage, Zero lunged at Needle.

Star raised his shield and stood between the fight and the other Wilybots.
Rockman jerked his buster out and aimed it at the two, but knew that wasn't going to do any good. "Blues! Do something!"

"Shall we get back to business?"

"By all means, Star; do whatever you think necessary in that regard, you'll get no argument from me. I'll have a decent leash on my own hothead."
