A number of sleep induced sounds came over the channel before,

[S-something for me? Er- yeah, I'm home. Fell asleep at the computer...]

Blues fairly cackled with amusement. This was going to be even more amusing than he expected; half-asleep Rock was even better than awake Rock.

[Whenever you're ready --]

Inside, Rock peeked from room to room.

[I'm ready. Where are you? ....you better not jump out at me.]

[Heh. I'm outside, Rock; you think I'm going to let Roll ambush me? I don't think so --]

That and he doubted he'd fit a chaser through his usual sneak-spaces; but he wasn't telling Rock that, oh no.

[Heh. Roll goes outside too, you know. Coming.]

Finally shoving open the door, Rock spotted Blues first. "So what's th-" Then his eyes wandered to the chaser; the rest of his sentence died in his mouth.

I have much more room to maneuver outside, is the thing --]

Blues grinned cheerfully, and waved Rock towards the chaser. Why yes, he was enjoying every second.

"Come see?"

Even knowing he was going to get it some time did not keep Rock from practically diving into Blues with a hug. "Thank you thank you thank you thank you-"

Hugs were just fine; Blues caught Rock and braced himself before they both tipped over altogether, then swung him a bit as he returned the hug.

"You're welcome welcome welcome. Heh."

"Everything you need is in the cargo hatch; including a nice detailed manual, because it's a complicated machine and I know damn well you'll want to know how to tinker with it."

Laughing at being spun, he grinned up a Blues then over at the chaser. "It's perfect."

Pulling away, Rock started walking around the chaser and poking different parts before digging for said manual. "Any spare parts that might be hard to come by around here?"

"Excellent."

Blues watched Rock poke and peer with satisfied amusement. Worked out perfectly, it did.

"Some of the engine block might cause a headache, but I'm working on hunting up some spares to drop off. I figure once you see what's needed machining extras shouldn't be too hard."

He was skimming the manual now. It was hard to just sit there and read, but he didn't want to rush and not know what he was doing, so a compromise meant skimming the pages.

"Ordering a few 'custom' parts won't be too difficult if I need to replace something, but knowing which ones ahead of time helps. And having a few spares ahead of time helps even more~"

"I'll send along a list of the tricky ones while I'm waiting on the spares, then. Though I wouldn't be at all surprised if you can make one faster just from reading the manual and the specs."

"So, what're the odds of you getting this under cover before Roll has a fit ~?"

"That'd be great. Heh, maybe I can? I'll definitely be trying."

"Ah- No way I'll keep it from her for long. But if Auto isn't here then I can hid it in the garage for now. She doesn't go in there." At some point he'd want to sneak off and take it for a test drive though - hopefully before Roll found out so he wouldn't have to deal with her worrying.

"Just as long as you remember to tell her where you got it from -- that was the plan, remember? She can't make your life too miserable if you got it as a gift, rather than getting it yourself."

Blues chuckled.

"Or at least that's what you told me, hey?"

"Yeah, I'll remember. I'd like my first ride not to include her telling me to wear my helmet a million times though," he snickered.

Blues echoed the snickering. He could very well imagine Roll doing exactly that --

"And ignoring the fact that you don't need one quite so much as a human kid, hey?"
