"Right. Surprise." There was a good chance Roll was twitching, because she knew she couldn't lay into either of them. Not when one had brought the other a gift and the other simply accepted it. But boy did she want to. This would need careful thought before she could say anything about Rock's gift. The look, however, stayed.
"Yeah, and I was thinking about keeping it in the garage, but I don't want Auto coming across it just yet. Not after what he did to the truck." Auto wasn't going to be allowed anywhere near the chaser if Rock could help it.
"Chasers aren't particularly well-built for being submerged; I second the notion of finding a place other than the garage for it, seeing as Auto's up to his usual stunts."
"And it was very much a surprise, seeing as Rock had to even ask me where I was when I arrived."
No, Blues wasn't enjoying Roll's discomfiture. It's all in her mind ...
Privately Blues wondered whether Roll meant she'd ask about saving the chaser from Auto's attentions, or that she'd have words with Light about said chaser. He kept the notion to himself, however.
He had no trouble returning Rock's grin, mind --
"Oh, definitely. There wasn't a hell of a lot she could say about it."
"Sure." Rock would lead the way to the garage, which seemed almost split into two halves. One had what could only be Auto's crazy projects spread about, and the other Rock's tickering.
Since half number one certainly didn't have Rock's stamp all over it -- Auto's signature eccentricity was all over the place -- Blues zeroed in on the second half.
Curious, he took a closer look at the various projects.
Most of them hadn't been touched in a long while - being away for three years did that - but the car bits and were still in working order, if a bit dusty.
After, parking the chaser, Rock dug through a shelf of items, searching for tarp.
Rock finally saw the edge of one sticking out of one of the higher shelves and pointed it out to Blues. He was taller so it'd be easier for him to reach.
"Of course! The chaser doesn't make working on cars any less interesting."
"I think you handled the thing just fine. Perfect!"
The tapping from Roll just added an extra layer of sweet, sweet evilness to the whole thing as far as he was concerned.

Roll paused her tapping and switched the look she was giving Rock to Blues.

"It's been in the works for a while now. Figured I'd drop it off as a surprise."

Once she was in the house, Rock relaxed then gave Blues his biggest grin. "That went better then expected."

"I'm gonna see if I can find a tarp to hide the chaser under." Anything to slow Auto down.

"Want a hand?"

Once he'd finished being inquisitive, he ambled over to Rock and started looking about for tarp-like things himself.
"Still going to be mucking about with car innards now?"

There was the tarp; following Rock's point, Blues reached up for it and tugged it down.
"Do you plan to mention the chaser to Light?"
Reply
"If Roll hasn't beat me too it, sure. Why not?"
