Josh has been in his room for the whole week; never leaving only to get something to eat and bathe. What's got this city down; well for one, his weed is gone because of a certain someone; and incidents at home are really depressing him.
Yeah something besides the usual gun violence and deaths; the winter brings house fires across the city, but that's to be expected, he's used to it...but this...this long string of incidents is just sickening.
At one of the many city high schools (South Philadelphia High School) there has been lots of violence amongst the students. But that always happens at this school; nothing different, right? No, the violence is racial violence. In that part of the city, Many Asians, Blacks, and Italians live there. But that violence is most between the Asians and Blacks. Jumping one another and fighting in and outside of school.
It's gotten so bad, that this has happened to 30 Asian students so far; many have been boycotting school. Refusing to go until something is done. They say they have the freedom to learn and not fear for their safety...and they are so right.
Nothing has been done thus far; but this...it opens old wounds for Josh...back when he was a very prejudice individual, back when he did the same to people that were different than him. He sits silently in his desk chair, his hand covering his face. he weeps silently; he's the city of Brotherly love...why is this happening again...he seriously thought times have changed.
However no racial group is really to blame...the people that is suppose to be watching over these children is to blame. He wonders why didn't they intervene? To stop this thing that has become such a mess.
He'll take a sip of Vodka, maybe being in a drunken stupor will help him feel better. His mun is just as disgusted as him, Hurts me to see this type of thing happening in my city. But what can you do, right?
Feel more than welcome to bother Josh; and here's a link to an
article to read.
