Well, he's the man that founded my city back in the late 1600s. We got a statue of him on top of my city hall. At the time, no building was taller than city hall. He never wanted any building to exceeded that height.
However, in the '80s, One Liberty Place...another building in my city, rose above city hall; then it's sister building Two Liberty Place followed. After their construction, none of the big four won any championships...no basketball champs, no football champs , no baseball, or hockey champs.
Then 2008 rolled in, and the Comcast center, tallest building in my city, was complete. In an effort to end Billy Penn's curse, they put a 5" figure of Billy on the last beam of that building. Then the Phillies won the World Series that year. Everyone thought it was broken.
However...I doubt it is; we lost the series this year, the city went bankrupt that one time and public transit works are striking. I don't think it's broken....at least fully anyway.
