Sally and I went to pick up our wedding rings from Tammy the jeweller. I'm getting a platinum ring with three little diamonds in it - I'll probably wear it with the diamonds at the bottom as men don't typically wear diamond wedding rings. Sally just got a little engraved white gold band that will slot into the engagement ring she has (that tiketiger is so enarmoured with!). They are both pretty cool.

Sally already thought Tammy is the coolest person in the entire world (direct quote) but what happened next sent Tammy's stock to record highs on the Sally Stock Exchange. We were chatting about the wedding and what we would wear. Tammy is a custom/bespoke jeweller who makes a lot of big, ornate pieces with very colourful stones in them. A lot of art deco style stuff that looks very Great Gatsby, or like costume jewellery, except it's all real. Anyway, the topic got onto what earrings Sally would wear, and Tammy out of the blue said "you can borrow a pair for the wedding if you want, just call me a few days beforehand and I'll package them up for you." We were amazed because these are like $5,000 or $10,000 earrings.

So Tammy scooted over the display window and selected four or five sets, and Sally tried them all on with Tammy and Hazel (one of Tammy's jewellers) providing fashion advice, and we settled on a pair of big dangly earrings with huge pale blue aquamarines in them. They look absolutely spectacular.

So I guess customer service isn't a completely extinct art. Thanks Tammy! Customers for life!
