I'm loving the development of the Dougie+Harry relationship, and how Dougie's staring to take a more active role instead of just letting things happen to him. It makes me less worried for Harry, messed up as he is, that he's now got someone watching out for him.
Which means I'm now worrying most about Danny. Because up until now, he's been the one taking care of everyone and keeping them together, and now I think he's on the verge of falling apart himself.
I spent quite a while debating whether to include the last scene of this installment or not. On one hand, it lays bare (cough!) something about Dan's character that's been there more subtly for quite a while, maybe even from the outset. On the other hand, it's incidental to the events of the story, possibly even distracting.
But red herrings are rather pretty fish, don't you think?
