My, death is never permanent if you have a grasp on the soul of the recently deceased in question. It's simply a matter of whether or not you are capable of the task of giving them said soul back.

... You assume it's always going to be a new body? If they can bring us here, why can't they reanimate flesh as well or heal it? It isn't hard if you have the soul to make the body follow suit.

True, but you said it takes a bit of time. If it takes so much of their time, then I doubt that they'd want us to keep dying, despite this process they have.
