It seems they're alive, as I had initially suspected, and not a tool of technology. It's a rather curious thing, these lights--if you don't believe me, look closer. Their bodies are near microscopic.
Speaking of faeries... since ancient times there have been lore and rumors among humanity of all kinds of creatures, haven't there? Demons, faeries, beasts in the night that are 'inhuman', that kill herds of sheep; that abduct children or even the recent souls of the deceased who rise again... preposterous, is what you might say. But in such modern times, it's just regarded sane to think such things do not exist, isn't it? And yet here we are, evidenced against it, by merely the fact we are here, with these abnormal creatures.
My question is simple: what do you think now? Indulge my curiosity.
