Because it's a pairing that's growing on me... Excuse me if my Axel is a little OOC.. I think this is my first time writing for him. *fails*
p.s. egads, this turned out longer than I expected. D: *can't write short things*

"......-en you got this giant stick shoved up your ass but you seriously need to chill out and get over it!"
The sound echoed down the hallway leading to the Grey Area, audible long before the source was visible, but the voice was unmistakable. Seated inconspicuously on the furthest couch from the entrance, Demyx looked up just in time to see Saix walk briskly into the room, followed by Axel, who was on the end of his tirade against the Luna Diviner. A pro by now at the subtle art of being unnoticed, Demyx sunk down against the cushions and put his all into doing just that as the two continued on.
"I'm hardly being unreasonable," Saix answered, his voice flat and cold. "I know where you go after missions, with this new illusion that you have the time to spend slacking off instead of being productive." He moved to the glass wall, obvious to Axel's protesting cry of 'oh come ON.'
He did turn to stare disapprovingly at the redhead when he persisted, practically in Saix's face now. "Just because you wouldn't know what to do with some free time if it bite your face off, that doesn't mean you gotta drag the rest of us down with you." Saix said nothing, but Demyx did see the corners of his mouth did twitch downward. Axel must have seen it too, because his leaned back and put his hands on his hips, expression all smug self-confidence.
"Maybe you're just pissed off 'cause the only person'll put up with your gloomy face anymore is Xe-" Anything further was cut off when Saix suddenly grabbed a fistful of Axel's coat and spun them around, slamming the taller Nobody up against the glass.
"Don't start," he hissed and even removed from the situation, Demyx had to stop himself from squeaking, his hands going to his mouth to hold the sound in. The last thing he wanted was either of those two finding out that he was here.
Saix continued, "if anything is going to ruin this, it will be your lackluster performance, especially now. You will do as I say and cease your dallying with these imagined notions of 'friendship'." The words came out dry and with a cold threat laced between them, but if Axel picked up on it, then it didn't seem to be deterring him.
"Yeah? Or what? You can't push me around anymore," he countered, practically sneering in the face of Saix's frustration.
Saix's eyes narrowed. "Can't I?" and then he yanked on Axel's coat, dragging him down and Demyx practically leaped off the couch when their mouths met in a jarring kiss. It was like watching a train wreck, horrifying and entrancing at the same time as Axel's hands went to sides of Saix's face and Saix pressed Axel bodily against the glass in answer.
The whole thing was less of a kiss and more of a struggle to see who would give in first, neither of them wanting to concede that the other had any sway over them. It was almost obscene in the otherwise silent room, the unmistakably wet sounds of tongues broken only by short grunts from Axel or the occasional clipped growl from Saix. Demyx had known that these two were a little friendlier than just co-workers--or maybe that had just been Axel's gregarious nature--but yikes.
Saix had a hand pressed against the glass now, flush up against Axel and practically sandwiching the other Nobody, but the contact abruptly ended when he jerked back. Demyx caught sight of blood on the Diviner's lips before a gloved hand shot up to cover it.
"Knock it off. I told you, you don't call the shots anymore." Axel shoved Saix out of the way, his previous mood obviously ruined now. As he walked past, he finally glanced over at Demyx, a brief, almost disgusted snort the only acknowledgment before he was gone. The Nocturne wanted nothing more than to vanish between the couch cushions, especially when Saix turned furious yellow eyes on him and it was only pure survival instinct that got him into the dark portal before the hurled claymore cleaved the couch in half.
Next time he was just going to spend his free time in his room.
