My African Culture professor to the general class:
"I'm not here to teach you English. If I can tell you don't know English by reading your paper, that's not my problem-- it's yours."
"I'm going to assume you know these words.... diction: it means you weren't supposed to use this word. Someone wrote converse instead of convert. Seriously, are you stupid?"
"It was like spending a night with George W. Bush. I can't tell which parts were just plain stupidity..."
"I wrote a lot of 'wow's.... but I also wrote a lot of 'yuck's. :| :| :|"
