She'd heard a whole lotta things in her eighteen years, but the best thing was without a doubt that she wasn't pregnant. Getting an exam back home had never been an option - the school nurse couldn't have done it, and if she'd gone to the doctor everyone would have known. But now it seemed she'd had nothing to worry about after all; for all her backseat hanky-panky with Kenickie with or without his twenty-five cent insurance policy, nothing had stuck, and now it seemed like some sorta miracle.
She'd still only just arrived on the island earlier that day, and she knew that was big, but it just didn't seem to be as hugely important as the fact that her over didn't have a bun in it. After leaving the clinic after Doc Paul's exam, her feet had led her right back to the door of Hawkeye's hut. She didn't bother to think about the reasons, and instead rapped on the door until her knuckles stung. "Hey, Hawkeye!"
