Haha, I absolutely love Chelsea (tankchick), she is such an amazing girl. I give her such props for truly being who she is and loving herself for it (even though sometimes she forgets to). And this new presentation on Self-Mutilation? Darling, you are an inspiration (hm, a lot of -tion words here), and I am honored to be invited to your birthday excursion on saturday. <3
A long day for Emily Betty, ::sigh::. I ditched assembly and studied for Spanish, then spent the end of my lunch period with James the Republican talking about sex drugs and rock 'n' roll ("Omg, I didn't know Republicans had sex?!?" - Me three weeks ago).
The YLI meeting was okay, except that Zach (our Chair) did not show up AS I HAD EXPECTED which is extremeley disappointing because he always ditches on our meetings, and never shows up to any of our public appearances. However, Jocelin and I were highly entertained by Justin's strange obsession with the office plants as we organized the new and reformed Housekeeping committees for the Commission. As opposed to three traditional non-productive committees, we now have:
- Fundraising (self explanatory)
- Media and Publicity (bringing issues to attention of the commission, creating media contacts)
- Board of Representatives (a direct link to the Board of Supervisors)
- Education Committee (involvement in school board issues, establishing closer connections with the schools and making ourselves better known)
- Public Health Commmittee (MY BRAIN CHILD, to create liasons to public health services in Marin, as well as enviornmental related topics)
I will be in charge of Education and Public Health (yay!) although I plan on having a strong pull in Media and Publicity as well.
Then the Community Court School meeting with Teresa, which was such a blast, although I am so intimidated by the responsibility involved. MAP has never taken on a project like this, so I am a bit anxious and (godforbid!) nervous. REACH was tight as well, I got some Renegade Message materials, met the No More Scapegoats people again, and got to see all the lovely people there. tumorsarah massaged my back for like a million hours, THANK YOU SO MUCH SWEETIE.
