Before God came to power, there was Bel who ruled the world. But after having his throne usurped, he was shattered into many smaller demons, who became powerful but minor demons, gods and idols.

And how did the rest of the deities come about?

Most Japanese gods was born from Izanagi, Izanami or their children. I heard some of them either came into existence or was created.

So really, they're from all sorts of origins.

How do they all get along?
