Fandom: taking back Valentine's Day since 2008!

So last year bottle-of-shine had a Kissing Battle. The last edition is here (EDITED TO ADD: this is the old battle, not the current one!). It was a lot of fun and might be known around FF-fandom circles as the best Meme ever**.

She knows Cecil the instant she sees him, with that instinctual jolt of recognition that hearts are so good at. It isn't until she's been freed, in the dizziness of her first steps in weeks, that she realizes her eyes are not playing tricks on her.

He's different.

Gone is the dark armor, the helm with its terrifying spikes. Gone is the dark sword. In its place is light - a sword gleaming like a star, armor made of crystal and glass.

Even his face is different. His doubt, his grief, his shame - all the things she could help with, the burdens she could kiss away - they are gone. There is still worry in his eyes, but there is a sense of resolution there that her Cecil never had.

He found it without me, Rosa thinks. Who is this stranger? What has he gone through without me there? What sort of trappings are these, these noble robes of light - has he donned them for show? For disguise? Or is he truly -

He bends forward to kiss her, and she lifts her face nervously, wondering what happened to her Cecil, wondering whether -

Oh.

He still tastes the same. She sighs, and smiles, and leans forward.

YES! ALL MY REAL OTPS ARE CANON MARRIED AND THAT'S AWESOME! EEEEEE.

THIS MEANS YOU TOTALLY HAVE TO WRITE SOME MORE CECIL/ROSA BECAUSE I KNOW YOU ROCK AT IT.

OK, here's the deal. I prod you for Rinoa-fic, you prod me for the Cecil/Rosa I have been wanting to write for months now. BECAUSE I HAVE FFIV ADVANCE FINALLY AND AM PLAYING IT AND WHEEEE.

Jealous salarta is jealous! Excellent writing! I'm not just saying that because of the pairing either, the depth of it makes me wish I could write stories this eloquent all the time.

The picture I'm using for this comment is entirely random, btw. :)

This was adorable. I've never tried reading any FFIV fics before but I loved your characterization of Rosa, I couldn't help but say something.

Horraaay! Yes I did request it! And I was SO not expecting artwork!

Very nicely done! I love how you drew them in action and Seph's facial expression is great! LOL! Pre-Sephiroth indeed. And we don't see Tifa in that outfit very much! Way to go in bringing it back!

Thanks so much for the hard work! Loved it.
