I'm glad that faculty think we're miracle-workers. It's flattering, really. But to come in at 6:00 and say you'll be bringing an indefinite number of people in at 7:30 for an instruction session? That's not good. What is even less good is that I have never done an instruction session, let alone by myself. And it's for a business class, which is definitely not my area of expertise. This is probably going to boil down to "How to use an e-book" and "The suggest subject terms button is your friend." These are also people who have just finished an exam and no doubt want to go home immediately if not sooner.
Actually, it's better that it is tonight, since I am the only capital-L Librarian that works a night right now. Any other time, it would be someone who knows serials cataloging perfectly well but has rarely if ever been faced with the complexities of printing from JSTOR. So this is a good thing. Yes.
ETA: They didn't show. It would serve him right if they turned up at five minutes past 8 and found everything shut up. Then he would have to call and set up a time like everyone else, bwahaha!
