Fully acknowledging that New Years Resolutions are silly things that almost no one takes seriously, I went and cooked some up anyway.
1) Stop biting nails. Did I say this last year too? Either way, it’s a horrible habit that is both unattractive and unhealthy and really has to go.
2) Read more. I know, that sounds silly coming from me. But between that ridiculous class and fic and other types of fannishness, I barely made my 50 Book Challenge for 2005. So I need to read actual books in addition to the fine things put out by all you wonderful people. This also leads directly to another paradox:
3) Get rid of some books. "But I thought librarians were about collecting books!" cries the multitude. Yes, we are. But some of us have limited space, and some books are the sort that are good to read once then pass on, while others are to be kept and cherished and cuddled and called George. I have a fair number of the former sort hanging around waiting to be read. Once they are finished, I can trade them in for others, leaving me with more space now and less stuff to move on the glorious day I bust out of this place.
4) Write more. I have so much unfinished fic lurking in this computer, it’s shameful. Mostly, I tend to only finish something if it’s been promised to someone, and then it's still a few days late. That needs to improve. Also, The Literary Spy Novel is still languishing in limbo. Perhaps our characters are enjoying their vacation, but they we really should get back to business.
