Happy (early) Halloween!
Since I'm not really going anywhere tomorrow, I decided to flaunt my costume at work today. This worked perfectly as we were also allowed to wear jeans today if we contributed to the BAM Associates Assistance Fund. The one problem with my near-perfect Rose Tyler outfit: I look like any blonde undergrad with too much eyeliner and big earrings. A normal weekday brings us a surprising number of Brits (ex-pats and those on holiday, though what either want here I've no idea) but not so much today. There was a high geek quotient today, but apparently no-one wants to think "costume" until tomorrow. If Santa will bring me an inflatable Dalek, however, next year I can be more obvious.
However! Santa may already be on the way! One of said geeks was wearing a Serenity shirt, so of course the first thing I said as he walked up to the register was "I need to know where you got that shirt!" The answer: from an LJ friend who knows people and had some spare goodies lying around and offered them to the first ones to ask. However, he does have a means of laying hands on Serenity posters like those given out at sneak preview showings. With any luck, one will be delivered to my place of employment this coming Thursday.
Combine this with my recently acquired poster of Ten and Rose (and the TARDIS, and a Random Cardiff Background Building) nicked rescued from a damaged mag, and my room is starting to look pretty cool. Aside from the stacks of boxes and half-packed suitcases and unfolded laundry. And the mounds of reading I have to do. In short, a huge mess with a few pretty things on the walls.
