1-Elaborate on your default icon.
Flight of the Conchords! While I do still love them, this kind of signifies just how busy I've been - I haven't been quite as obsessed with them since this summer/end of last year, but I just haven't had time to change my default icon since then. In fact, I didn't even remember what it WAS till I actually saw it. Whoops!
2-What's your current relationship status?
Single... FOREVER it seems, haha.
3-Ever have a near-death experience?
Riding in the car with Jignasha driving in Alaska. No, it really was.
4-Name an obvious quality you have.
Overly-ambitious.
5-What's the name of the song that's stuck in your head right now?
You Know I'm No Good - Amy Winehouse
6-Any celeb you would marry?
Probably not if it came down to it, but I'd seriously think about it if Jake Gyllenhaal somehow asked me to marry him - for some reason I think we'd actually be kind of compatible. It seems like he's silly but serious about the right stuff and has a good sense of humor.
7-Who will cut and paste this first?
Whoever is the most bored or really wants to procrastinate!
8-Has anyone ever said you look like a celebrity?
Yeah, occasionally, I get a few people. Um, Drew Barrymore a lot, and one other who I can't remember. I think it's a load of crock though.
9-Do you wear a watch? What kind?
Nope, I use my cell. I do have a watch, it was made by my great-grandfather but I don't have a watchband for it. As soon as I get one I think I'll start to wear it regularly, it's really cool. It has "Garland," a family name, inscribed in it and it's so old that you have to wind it. :)
10-Do you have anything pierced?
Each ear once.
11-Do you have any tattoos?
Nope. I'm afraid of doing things to my body that can't be undone.
12-Do you like pain?
I don't like it, but I don't usually mind it either. I have a pretty high tolerance for pain.
13-Do you like to shop?
Yes! More than is probably healthy but less than many.
14-What was the last thing you paid for with cash?
Coffee.
15-What was the last thing you paid for with your credit card?
...Probably also coffee.
16-Who was the last person you spoke to on the phone?
Heather.
17-What is on your desktop background?
A flat snowy landscape with a road, I can't remember where I found it.
18-What is the background on your cell phone?
Blue sky and bubbles with my "top five." What a ridiculous cell phone plan. The main bubble is my little brother Tony making an adorable face.
19-Do you like redheads?
Like it's a sickness. Seriously, it's getting creepy.
20-Do you know any twins?
Yes! Some of them are my best friendssss. (Hi Beth and Kate!!!)
21-Do you have any weird relatives?
The real question is, do I have any normal relatives? Remember, my mother is a priest who adopts little children with medical problems. The rest aren't that much more normal.
22-What was the last movie you watched?
Cashback. It starred Sean Biggerstaff! Yay Oliver Wood!
23-What was the last book you read?
Oh, lord. I can't even remember. I'm currently halfway through Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows for the second time, but I haven't "been reading" an actual book since this summer... the only one I can remember that I definitely read this summer (other than Deathly Hallows, of course) is "Interview With a Vampire."
24-Is there such a thing as love at first sight, or it is more likely to be "lust at first sight"?
In my experience, there's no such thing as love at first sight, but I guess I can't really rule it out.
25- What's your favorite book?
The Harry Potter series. Gahd I'm so stereotypical.
26-When was the last time you visited the street where you first lived?
God, probably not since I moved out of it, actually. I was only there for a month.
27-When was the last time you googled your own name?
Hahaha, a couple of days ago as sort of a joke/out of boredom, and I was astounded that I actually was the first few results! They're my lab site, my blog (my photo blog, not this one) and also STIR magazine. Exciting!
28-What was/is your favourite subject at school?
Biology and Art - always my favorites.
29-What was/is your least favourite subject at school?
Math. UGH. I was never particularly fond of history or English either though, especially during poetry units.
30-Do you like having your photograph taken?
Yes.
31-What time were you born?
12:11am. They crossed out the 9th on my birth certificate and changed it to 10.
32-Ever seriously questioned your sanity?
Not seriously, no.
33-How many phone numbers do you have remembered and can say off the top of your head?
Gosh, not all that many but probably close to ten if I really wracked my brain. They'd all be from childhood though, like all my friends from middle school's home numbers.
34-Can you Limbo?
Doubtful.
35-Have you ever killed your own dinner?
Yes if you count plants, but I've never killed an animal and then eaten it. I've eaten deer that friends and family members have killed though, and it's always quite delicious. I much prefer eating wild animals, actually, because I think they've had far better lives than animals raised for the purpose of slaughter.
36-How long have you been living at your current residence?
I've actually been living in Dana Hall for almost 3 years (GAH!). This particular room just since September, though. And my house at home I've been "living in" since I was 12 - albeit less these past 3 years obviously.
37-What phobias do you have?
I'm quite scared of the dark, but not to the phobia extent.
38-What's your ideal breakfast?
Either an omelet with spinach and bacon or a scrambled eggs, bacon and cheddar sandwich on some kind of toast. A good addition to that would be yogurt with cocoa puffs in it. And to drink, skim milk and also coffee. Of course I'd never finish all of that.
39-Where are you right now?
Um... in class. I'm officially a bad person. I just hate art history, and it's a big seminar so... it's not like my professor will know I'm not taking notes. It's not like I really need to know know anything about Post-Impressionism anyway.
40-Why do you blog?
To keep in touch! In a more detailed way than Facebook. And because LJ has some fun communities that I greatly enjoy.
41-What would you call your autobiography?
Haha, I always joke I'd call it "Asian Invasion." :)
42-What's the longest time you've stayed out of the country/where?
Not long, just Canada for no more than a week at a time.
43-Do you use ICQ, AOL Buddy list etc..?
AIM, but I use Adium as my client. It's a great program.
44-Do you have nightmares frequently?
Only if I nap... I almost always have nightmares if I sleep during the day. Weird, huh? It's a good nap deterrent, though, actually.
45-If you were another person, would you be friends with you?
It depends on which other person I was! I'd say yes, haha. I'm fun.
46-Which TV character could you be friends with?
Even though he got crushed by a helicopter, I think I would have liked Dr. Romano from ER. Even though he's a dick. I respond to that by also being a dick, and I think we'd fight bitterly but both be heartily amused by our bickering. Also I'd be friends with Alice from the L Word but she'd be one of those friends that drives me crazy but I love anyway. I's also definitely be friends with the Doctor from Doctor Who (especially Ten because of his wacky sense of humor) because I'd LOVE to go on adventures with him and I always have a cool head in a crisis, which would come in handy when we were threatened by Daleks or Cybermen.
47- What's on your mouse pad?
The Allendale Columbia logo, haha, they sent me a mouse pad one year in the little holiday package thing and I still use it because if you have one, why buy a new one? Especially if it was free. Besides, the birches are pretty.
48- What is your ring tone?
"Everything's Just Wonderful" by Lily Allen.
49. What did you watch on TV last night?
Queer As Folk on DVD, I don't watch much actual TV, like, on the television. Except for Project Runway, which is tonight. Yay! (ALSO on that note, Andrae from Season Two is COMING TO CLARK! I WILL GET TO SEE HIM! I don't even know what he'll speak about, but I honestly don't care. It's my life's ambition to photograph him for STIR.)
50. Scary movies or happy endings?
Happy endings, I don't like scary movies! They... scare me.
boredom in class,
finals,
surveys
