Title: I Will Always Find You
Pairing: Snow/Charming
Spoilers: Season 1 (with a tiny quote from 3x01 tossed in for effect, but it isn't spoilery)
Length: Words: ~1,360; Picspams: 18
Notes: So, I've been so obsessed with these two for the past few months that I simply had to do this challenge about them.
I went a little bit overboard, probably, especially considering there really aren't any haters out there to convert, but it was just too much fun.
And yes, I only covered Season 1, but I think you get the point -- I'll probably cover Season 2 some other time....
Anyway, enjoy the lovefest below! ;D
Characters
David Nolan/Prince Charming
David started out as a peasant shepherd.
He was recruited to replace his twin brother, the prince, after his death.
His job: look pretty in armor and live long enough to show off a dragon's head, chopped off by the trained soldiers.
It turned out, however, that he was naturally gifted, and David slayed the dragon himself, cementing an aliance with King Midas that also led to his betrothal to a woman he did not love.
If Charming believed in anything, it was in true love, and he wanted nothing more than to marry for love, no matter what the cost.
The king (now pretending to be his father) threatened to kill his mother, so he went along with the betrothal until he met his true love.
He is a natural soldier and a natural ruler, and he loves his family -- and his kingdom -- with all his being.
The Charmings are famous for always finding each other, a faith he holds on to no matter what evil might be thrown at them.
He believes in his wife, in his daughter and his grandson, and in his family as a whole, and he'll fight to protect it -- to the bitter end, if necessary.
Mary Margaret/Snow White
Compassionate, hopeful, loving, kind: these are just a few of the words one could use to describe Snow White.
From a young age, Snow was taught by her mother to treat everyone with respect and love, no matter their station.
The loss of her mother could have hardened her, darkened her, broken her...but it didn't.
She rose stronger than ever, and clung to her father when she could and her maid when she couldn't.
She found an ally in Regina when she was rescued from her runaway horse, but she broke a confidence -- believing it to be in Regina's best interest -- and Regina lost her true love, consequently marrying Snow's father.
She spent the rest of her life wishing she could repair her relationship with Regina while watching her descent into darkness.
She's been described as "infuriatingly optimistic," and really it's true.
She really does believe with all her heart that things will get better, and that together with her family she can accomplish anything in the name of good.
Episode 1x01 - Pilot
The very first scene of the show introduces our heroes, Snow and Charming.
Snow has been cursed to the endless sleep, and the dwarves have placed her in her coffin believing her to be gone.
Charming arrives and asks them to remove the lid, which they do. He kisses her goodbye, breaking the curse with true love's kiss.
(This one scene is enough to prove they're meant to be together, but I'm gonna keep going because this is fun.)
...when we first meet the Charmings...
That first scene cuts straight to this one -- their wedding.
(Well, as we later learn, it's technically their second wedding...but we'll get there later. )
They stand against Regina, declaring themselves the rulers of the kingdom and pledging to do everything, together, in the name of good.
Even as they stand, brave but also fearful, before her, even as she threatens to take all of the happy endings, they hold the sword together, standing even closer now than they had while making their vows.
As a family, the Charmings can overcome anything, and they know it.
...wedding of the century,
or how the Charmings can overcome anything together...
The next Snow/Charming scene of the pilot shows Snow, quite pregnant all ready, worrying about Regina's threats to destroy the happy endings.
Charming comforts her, reminding her that they are together and they will find a way to defeat Regina again.
...the impossible choice - part 1,
or how we'll stop Regina...
Next we see the Charmings holding a council meeting to determine the best course of action regarding Regina's curse.
It is decided that, for the good of their family and the good of the kingdom, their daughter, the savior, must be protected.
They will leave, through a magical wardrobe, to raise her and return to break the curse at the prescribed time.
...the impossible choice - part 2,
or how we'll protect our family...
After Ghepetto lies to protect his son and Snow has her child early, they have to make a hard choice -- to send Emma through alone and pray that she breaks the curse.
In typical Charmings style, they trust that she will find them, and they give her up to restore the happy endings for their people in the future.
...the impossible choice - part 3,
or how far we must go to protect our child...
Episode 1x03 - Snow Falls
So, every pairing has a rocky start, yes?
This was possibly the rockiest they could have had.
Snow steals Charming's jewels (particularly his mother's ring).
Charming chases after her and she hits him in the head.
Here begins his mantra: "I will find you."
...how they met...
And find her, he did -- with a net.
They have a nice chat about Regina wanting Snow dead and how Snow isn't really a criminal.
Charming cuts her down, intending to follow her to the trolls she sold his ring to.
...at first, she was found...
Some more bonding on the road, including when Charming takes the dark fairy dust from Snow.
...their first adventure...
They're found, and Snow is captured.
Charming saves her and they continue their journey.
...Charming to the rescue...
At the troll bridge, Snow could have easily left Charming to die, but saved his life as he had saved hers.
...troll bridge...
Snow tries on the ring, and it suits her -- though she doesn't let on.
She returns his ring and heads on her way.
Charming says he'd find her if she ever needed anything.
...goodbye, for now...
Episode 1x04 - The Price of Gold
There's no real reason for this one...but just look at how beautiful they look together.
...to the ball we go...
Episode 1x10 - 7:15 AM
Charming sent Snow a message, telling her that he loves her and asking her to find him if she feels the same way.
King George traps and threatens Snow, Charming, and everything else Snow loves -- if she ends things with Charming, they can go their separate ways; if she doesn't, Charming will die.
Snow goes to him, broken inside as she tells him that she doesn't love him anymore.
She hides her tears as she turns to leave.
Charming refuses to believe it -- this is not the last she'll see of him.
...the things we do for love...
Episode 1x16 - Heart of Darkness
After drinking a potion given to her by Rumplestiltskin, Snow has forgotten all about Charming, and lost a piece of herself in the process.
Charming risks everything to remind Snow who she is before it's too late.
Snow tries to kill Regina, but Charming gets in the way, telling her that she's a good person, no matter what, and there are always better paths.
True love's kiss reminds Snow who she is (look, there it is again) just in time for George's men to capture Charming.
Snow vows to find him as he has always found her.
...remember...
Episode 1x21 - An Apple Red as Blood
After Regina bargains with George for Charming's release into her custody, Snow and her friends storm the castle in an attempt to free him.
He isn't there, hidden away by Regina but allowed to see his princess through the magic mirror just long enough to break Snow's heart.
Regina makes a deal with Snow -- if she willingly eats the apple she knows has been poisoned with the sleeping curse, Regina will release Charming unharmed and leave her loved ones alone.
Snow agrees.
...how the Queen destroyed Snow's happiness,
or at least she thought she did...
Episode 1x22 - A Land Without Magic
(I suppose I should quickly mention that Charming battled a dragon in return for Rumplestiltskin's help finding Snow.)
Finally, I can talk about Storybrooke!Snow/Charming! LOOK!
...hold tight...
