Character Name: Jubilation Lee // Jubilee
Series: Marvel Comics
Age: 22
From When?: Right after the Draco Arc. Before M-Day. (616)

Abilities/Powers: Jubilee is a trained gymnast, and can use it to devastating effect, especially when using her powers. She has also been trained in hand to hand combat, not to mention some knife fighting, staff, and sword.

Her mutant abilities are her PAFs. While, technically, they are colourful arrays of energy plasmoids, she continues to call them PAFs, or fireworks. They erupt from her hands, and she can reabsorb them if necessary. Through hard work and dedication, she has managed to control what colour they take, as well as how loud they are. She's still attempting two other modifications. Namely: changing how bright they are, and she's attempting to use them to create a wall that time delay detonates. It has not been perfected yet, and the wall she created once was less than two feet high. She also has a slightly higher metabolism than a normal human.

She has also been trained to be a petty thief. She can pick some locks, and pick pockets pretty well. Jubilee tends not to use this unless there's a need for it - or she's trying to prove a point - but she does attempt to keep in practice, usually on her own stuff.

Her powers afford her two types of natural shielding: One is psychic shielding. This has been augmented by years of training under some of the most prominent psychics on Earth. Two is a shielding to some electronic monitoring.

Also, because of her training with the X-Men, she knows enough about vampires (of her world) to protect herself and others.

Thanks to Logan, she can swear in Japanese, and speak enough Mandarin to not get herself into too much trouble. She also knows a tiny bit of German - thanks Kurt - Creole, and Swahili. Not much, but enough to be able to ask for an interpreter.

Personality: While Jubilee was raised in the lap of luxury until she was twelve, and sometimes still slips back into the spoiled princess roll, she has a grounded practicality that sometimes surprises people. Intensely curious, she will track things down until she's forced to stop for whatever reason. She's gotten better at this, but sometimes, she just can't help it.

People call her annoyingly perky, but Jubilee doesn't see the point of dwelling on the bad things, and lets a lot of things slide off her back. She tries to look on the bright side, and has an intense need to make things better.

She's supremely loyal to and protective of those that are her friends, or under her care. Not blind to their faults - just like she knows Wolverine is a jackass, just he's marginally less of a jackass to her - but she will defend them against random outsiders, if there's no reason for the trouble.

Her temper can, and does, get the best of her. Once that happens, she slips back into rich brat mode, and will say very hurtful things to the object of her ire. While she might feel bad about it later, don't count on it.

Jubilee likes her bright colours, and her loud music, but she isn't dumb. She's lead a team of superheroes, she's trained for years in strategy and tactics, and has read The Art of War more than once.

Getting to the barge, she'll take a short period of time to adjust, and learn people's quirks, but will settle in relatively easily. She's outgoing and will make some friends easily. Once she gets her inmate, she'll be very focused on that, and working on them, perhaps bettering herself in the process.

History: Jubilation Lee was born, to a wealthy banker and his wife, after Dr. Lee was made a vice-president of a bank, and moved himself and his wife to Beverly Hills. Because they were so “happy” to be in America, they named their only child Jubilation. She lived up to the name, and maintained a bright and sunny disposition.

Jubilation never wanted for anything. She was the princess of the household. She had everything a girl her age could want. Including a credit card, that Daddy paid and never asked about the bill.

She went to a prestigious prepschool, and had a private gymnastics coach.

She first manifested her powers at age 13, shortly after her birthday, while out with a friend five-finger discounting things at a local mall. She thought her hands were burning, and PAFed a pair of mall security guards to get away, leaving them temporarily blind. Her parents told her to keep it a secret and she did.

Everything was great, until October. Then, everything changed. The cops said her parents were going too fast around the curve on Mulholland Drive. Perfectly plausible, and it happened all the time. She completely shut down, and refused to speak for three months. She was in the foster care system at this time, and was considered a “trouble case”.

In January, she ran away from her foster parents, and went to live in the same mall that she'd first PAFed at. She lived there for a while, and then ended up in Australia after following some mutant women through a portal.

After adventures under the hidden base, she helped the Wolverine out and became his sidekick. They had many adventures together, and ended up at the X-Mansion for even more adventures. (If mods want specifics, I can give them.) Most weren't nearly as fun as she'd thought they'd be, but some were at least interesting. (She never, ever, ever wants to talk about Shadow King. Yes, she took a punch from Wolverine, but it's not her fondest memory.)

Plus, she often went off with Logan on random adventures, though, several times that didn't exactly work out according to plan. Like that time with Mojo, and the end of the world, and ending up in Japan with the Harley and managing to get arrested. Then, after that there was the death of Mariko, the death of Silver Fox (again at Sabretooth's hands), and more Brood and Mojo.

Eventually, the X-Men decided that she was too young and green to keep going into the field, so she was confined to the mansion. It didn't last long, since it seemed trouble came to the mansion almost as often as the X-Men went to it. (Including Sabretooth. Her terror of Creed was a reoccurring theme in her Life After Wolvie - LAW.)

When Logan lost his adamantium skeleton, Jubilee was one of the few that could still stand to be around him. So, she didn't leave him. In the middle of the night, she woke up and read the letter he'd left her, and waved out the window as he left. There were things he had to do, and she couldn't go with him. This was one of the few times that Jubilee really couldn't see herself staying at the mansion, and she said as much to Banshee.

After Creed was brought to the mansion - against her wishes, and she still thinks the Prof owes everyone apologies for that - the Phalanx began attacking new mutants. Teaming up with Emma Frost, Banshee, and Sabretooth, Jubilee went out to help find the next generation.

Of course, things didn't go smoothly, and Creed escaped, but at least the kids were safe.

Then, because of things happening, and the X-Men deciding the mansion was too dangerous, she, and the other teens - at her suggestion - moved to Massachusetts to learn from Emma Frost (The White Queen) and Sean Cassidy (Banshee). Even more adventures happened (namely involving Emplate, and M's need to be the best - although the zoot suit, during the Onslaught incident was fun) until they finally closed the school, after the group graduated.

Jubilee moved to LA for a time, with her friend Angelo. After a disastrous attempt to become an actress, she, Angelo and others, were kidnapped by the Church of Humanity and crucified on the lawn of the Xavier Mansion. While she survived, Angelo died, and she remained at the mansion.

Even though Cyclops refused to put her on a team, she still managed to find fun and adventure, by following Kurt into hell on his birthday.
