Theres a lot of conflict in history.[He points out, and hopes that they will be focussing on something interesting. Like the subtle conflict of Roman politics. Or an ancient war between Greece and Persia.
Samurai could be fun too. Sasuke sort of likes history, so he hopes the teacher is good. :>]

A large figure was Pericles, the ruler of Athens at the time. He was the one who proposed the aliiance between Athens and the smaller islands which surrounded it - initially as a defence against the Persians. But the Athenian's started to heavily tax their 'allies' [Yeah, he just used his fingers to make quotation marks.] to create more warships, to build walls, and enhance their navy. Sparta was the only city-state that was large enough to challenge them, and there was tension between them. The Pelopensian War was really caused by Athens rapid expansion, and Sparta's fear of it.
