"You have to tell your father at some point," Patricia Padilla pointed out to Anthony when he sat at the kitchen table, grabbing a bagel to eat for breakfast.

"I will…eventually," Anthony assured her, his mouth full.

"He won't be disappointed, if that's what you're worried about," Patricia told him, rubbing his son's arm.

"That's not what I'm worried about."

Mrs. Padilla crossed her arms and sat back in her chair. "Then what are you worried about, Anthony?"

He shrugged, "I'm not sure."

Patricia sighed and took Anthony's hand into her own. "He'll be happy that you trust him enough to tell him," she told him.

He nodded and smiled a smile that didn't reach his eyes. Before getting up, Mrs. Padilla patted Anthony's hand one more time as a reassurance. Anthony wasn't really ready to tell him yet but he had to eventually.

"What should I do?" Anthony asked Ian as they sat on the couch where Ian had been sitting on on the first day they met.

Ian shrugged. "I wouldn't know," he said. "I never had to come out to anybody."

Anthony sighed. "Yeah, neither did I until now," he reminded the other boy.

Ian linked their hands together and pulled Anthony close to him. Smiling, Anthony pressed his lips to Ian's. They kissed for what seemed like an hour. There was nothing lustful about the kiss, just love and reassurance. Ian was the one who broke the kissing but kept his forehead leaning against Anthony's.

"Paul's not going to care," Ian assured him, sounding so sure of himself. Anthony wished he was as sure as Ian was. Instead of voicing that to Ian, Anthony sealed Ian's lips with a kiss, hungrier this time, more urgent. Ian smirked against Anthony's lips, shoving his tongue into the darker brunette's mouth.

Anthony started to fumbled with the button on Ian's jeans when Ian grabbed his hands. Anthony looked at the vampire with confusion. Ian smiled at him and said, "Ant, I just you to know…I love you."

Anthony pecked Ian on the lips. Then again. And again. And kept doing it until Ian finally chased his lips and shared a hot, passionate, lustful kiss. Against Ian's lips, Anthony whispered, "I love you too."

Ian smiled up at Anthony as he undid Anthony's shorts's button and zipper. Anthony was overcame but a wave of emotion at that moment. There were recognizable emotions in that wave, like familiarity, lust, love, comfort and then others that were foreign. Anthony had no idea what they were and pushed them into the back of his mind as Ian slid off his boxers with a hungry look on his face.

Anthony fidgeted his fingers as he sits on the living room couch next to his dad, who was watching a sitcom, like he had done a million and one times before. But this time felt different. Paul laughed at something one of the characters, the main one, Anthony figured, had said. When the commercials started to play, Anthony turned to his father.

"Dad?" Anthony cringed when his voice cracked; he really hated purberty.

"Yes Anthony?" he asked, hesitantly taking his eyes off of an advertisement for the latest Audi that Anthony knew he really wanted and was planning on getting.

"I have something to tell you," he said nervously, looking down at his fidgety hands.

Paul turned the volume of the TV done and turned to face his only son. "Go ahead Anthony," he said seriously.

Anthony opened his mouth and then closed it, trying to find the right words to tell his dad. How was he should to tell his dad that he liked cock? There was no way to really say it nicely. Anthony finally decided to just come straight out (Anthony inwardly rolled his eyes at the thought) with it and just tell him.

"Dad," Anthony sighed heavily. "I'm…I like-…um, you see, I am, uh, gay." Paul's eyes widened comically and his breathing became slightly uneven. Anthony hadn't glanced up at his dad since he had sat down. After minutes of sitting in silence, Paul still in shock with the bomb that Anthony had just dropped on him, Anthony became fed up with no reaction.

"Well Dad?" Anthony demanded impatiently, hands on his hips. "What you have to say? That you're disgusted? That you don't want a homo living in your house? Or are you going to say that you don't care who I want to fuck because I'm your son and you love me?"

Anthony's dad said nothing, just sat in silence. Throwing his hands up in frustration, Anthony stormed out of the room and down the street to the haunted house. He climbed in through the back window and into the kitchen. He knew that Ian wasn't going to be up just yet; it was still too light out for the vampire to be awake yet.

When there were days like these, Anthony wished that Ian would just turn him into a vampire and then they could be together forever and not have to meet up at midnight every night like they were now. The one time Anthony asked Ian about converting him, Ian just shook his head and said, "Maybe some day, but not now."

Anthony thought about much his life had changed in the past year and a half. He met Ian, the best thing that had came into his life, realized that he was bi, lost his virginity to a vampire, having his mom finding out he was gay and now wanting to become a vampire.

Anthony hadn't realized how much time had passed until he saw Ian standing right in front of him, half-naked and yawning.

"Anthony? What are you doing here?" Ian asked. "It's only like half past seven."

"I told him, Ian," Anthony mumbled looking down at his hands.

It took Ian a minute to catch onto what he was talking about. "What'd he say?" Ian asked nervously.

"I don't know," Anthony replied darkly. Ian cocked his head, confused. "He didn't say anything! I had no idea if he was upset! He was just…shocked!"

"Ant," Ian whispered, sitting next Anthony on the old counter and put his hand on Anthony's knee. "It's normal for him to be at a loss of words. I mean think about it, how would you feel if you found out your only son is gay? I mean, you basically just told him that he wouldn't have any grandchildren that was blood related."

Anthony bobbed his head, contemplating what Ian had said. Ian patted his knee before getting up.

"I'm going to go change and then go feed," Ian told him. "I won't be gone long. Are you going to be here?"

Anthony nodded and shot him a small smile. "I'll be right here, waiting for you to get back," he promised him.

Ian's eyes brightened and leaned in, kissing Anthony on his cheek. "I'll see you in a little bit."

After spending the night at the Hecox's house, Anthony walked into his house through the front door. His mom and dad were in kitchen, talking. Well, it was more of Patricia doing the talking while Paul listened. When they were heard the door close, Patricia growled quietly, obviously pissed at Anthony, while Paul cringed at the sound.

"Anthony David Padilla!" Mrs. Padilla yelled as Anthony tried to sprint past the kitchen to avoid any confrontations.

Anthony sighed and calmly strode into the kitchen. "Yes Mom?" Anthony asked, completely nonchalant.

"Where were you last night?! I was about to call the police!" she yelled.

Anthony shrugged. "I was hanging out with Ian," he replied coolly, skillfully avoiding his father's gaze when he said that. Anthony was seventy-five percent sure that his mom told his dad about the two of them.

"Mhmm?" she said sarcastically. "All night? How did Ian's foster parents feel about that?"

Anthony rolled his eyes. "Mom, you know we always hang out at night," Anthony insisted.

Patricia glared at him harshly. "Yeah, and you know that I really don't like you two hanging out at the dead of night when no one's around," she retorted.

Anthony sighed. "Whatever, Mom," he said, not being about to retort smartly with cluing his mom in about Ian's little secret.

"It's not 'whatever,' Anthony!" she snapped at him. "It's very dangerous!"

Anthony rolled his eyes again.

"Don't you roll your eyes at me, mister!" his mom exclaimed.

"Patricia-" Paul tried to start but was interrupted by his wife. "Don't you tell me to calm down, Paul!"

He sighed and throw his hands up in the air in defeat. There was silence for a few moments until Anthony's dad looked at his son and said, "I don't care that you like boys, Anthony. I was just in shock. I would've never guessed you were gay, Anthony! I mean, yeah, I knew you were close with Ian, closer than most best friends, but I never really read too much into your relationship."

Anthony nodded at his dad, smiling. He was glad that his father was understanding, just like Ian and Patricia said he was going to be.

"And Anthony?" his father said. "Never speak to me like that again. I did not appreciate you saying that to me."

Anthony nodded. "I'm sorry for that, Dad," Anthony said sincerely. "I was just really nervous and my emotions got the best of me…and my brain."

Paul smiled and nodded. Anthony took the opportunity to run to his room before his mother could punish him.

When Anthony entered Ian's house that night, Ian was laying on the floor that Anthony had his sleeping bag on on that first night. He looked up at Anthony and smiled warmly when he saw that Anthony's features had relaxed greatly since the previous night.

"I assume everything's good in Padilla household," Ian said brightly.

"Then you assume correct," Anthony said, giving Ian a kiss. "Oh, and by the way, my parents want you back for dinner."

Ian sighed because, as much as he wanted to, he couldn't. The sun set at nine o'clock and dinner that late would just be suspicious…and weird. "What'd you tell them?"

"That you couldn't do dinner but you could do dessert," Anthony said, proud of how smart bs was for brewing up that plan.

Ian smirked. "What kind of dessert?"

Anthony instantly had a smirk to match his. "Come here and I'll show you," he said and pulled Ian into a kiss.
