Two Original Pieces!

Jul 27, 2005 20:01

Two works of fiction for you guys today! One is a story that I've been working on for a writing competition at University, and the other is one that was just random thoughts in my head. The second one is a total plot-what-plot, I just wrote it when I was feeling depressed, but I still thought it worthy of inclusion. Let me know what you think of ( Read more... )

Wow, they're beautiful. Very very depressing, but you write beautifully. I can understand both pieces because I feel both. You managed to get ehe emotions down pat and described the feelings and thoughts perfectly. I especially love the ending of the first piece. =)

I actually came here for another reason (although I'm glad to have found those two fiction pieces). Remember me? The girl on Draco_Hermione who asked for help with a potion here?
I've decided on a transmogrification potion, but I have no idea what the ingredients should be, as I'm not good with making those up. You mentioned wicca, but I don't know much about it, unfortunately. Can you help me create the ingredients list? I thought that one of the ingredients should be a bit of whatever animal they're turning into. See, my solution to the problem of how they turned into each other is a bit like the Polyjuice Potion. The TPotion (long name T.T) is meant for animals right? So if they accidentally put a bit of human something in it, the potion would screw up and they turn into the human instead with a semi-permanent effect.

(Urgh, sorry for the long block of text.) What do you think? It sounds somewhat stupid, but it's the best I've managed to come up with.

I remember :o). And of course I'll help you.

Transmogrification is a difficult one, and very unique - I think that you've made the correct choice in terms of potions to use. You don't play neopets by any chance, do you? Because I think that's where this potion comes from - and yes, it is meant for animals.

Most of the ingredients I know for Wicca are normally used for spiritual change, however... I have a couple of ideas.

What if there were different transmogrification potions for different animals? Say, a certain herb, such as the herb that that animal is connected too (most of this part comes from ancient folk lore, so for Northern Hemisphere I'd have to look it up - I'm Australian), otherwise known as its "totem animal", as well a hair/feather from the animal? I could also make you a list of herbs that are used for spiritual change, and you could change htem around to be for physical change, based on the type of animal they want to change in to. Stones are useful too.

As for the accidentally changing into a human part, very good idea, but what if they only partially changed, like Hermione did in the second book. She didn't become a full cat, only partially. What if they only changed hair and teeth or something, because that would be hilarious.

Okay, sorry if all of those ramblings are confusing. I will start making that list for you today, and I should have it ready for you by Monday.

Lol, I used to play Neopets. I've forgotten about my account and pets though. =( The idea came out of the blue, but :D Maybe Neopets did have something to do with it.

It does sound confusing, but that's part of the fun. I might end up tearing my hair out making everything work, but I would definitely be having loads of fun playing around with the characters.

As for having Hermione and Pansy partially changing into each other, it's a much better idea than mine. But I already wrote 4 chapters and I'm scared to go back and change a bunch of things, lol.It would definitely be hilarious and a lot more work would be involved because Hermione and Pansy don't want anyone else to know about the problem, for reasons that will appear in future chapters. But I'm thinking about rewriting the previous chapters, so maybe I can chanege a few things, like minor details that would be hard for others to notice.

Thank you so much for taking the time to help me! I feel like saying I'm indebted to you and shall pay you back some day in the future. :p But that would sound weird in today's time . . . Thanks! (I can't say that enough)
