A Confusing Advertising Slogan

Jul 08, 2005 04:10

Dove Deodorant with moisturizer - it puts back what shaving takes away.

What? Hair?

Though supersniffles tells me that it makes perfect sense to a woman. Maybe my confusion is just a guy thing.

Uh... the "hair" thing would have been my first guess, too. But then, as you know, I'm a rather atypical female. ;)

There's this banner ad that keeps popping up on Neopets, but I haven't seen it long enough to get a good look at it. It seems to be selling a razor for women... but it mentions vibrations, and has a catchphrase like "get the buzz," and something about it being "soothing." I'm really curious to figure out what exactly this thing actually is...

That's exactly what it is.... I'm not sure I understand it either.

I can't get the page to load properly; all I get is a frame, which gets bigger, with no content. Stupid web page.

i saw a junkyard wars episode where the winning team made a trebuchet that flung a washing machine hundreds of feet through the air. it was a truly impressive bit of technology. i have been a fan of trebuchets ever since!

Oh, wow... wooowwww. Trebuchets are so pretty, aren't they? *wistful sigh* I have engineering-lust for them...

i can just imagine it vibrating at just the wrong angle, and being left with great chevrons of bleeding flesh.

I heard the radio ad. It's a vibrating razor. I have no idea why. They're also pitching it as "the first vibrating razor for women", making me wonder if men have had vibrating razors for years. And if so, what do they do with them? Wouldn't it make you cut yourself?

Well, sorta. All electrics vibrate somewhat, but I doubt that it would be enough to make the chore enjoyable, no matter what parts you were trimming.

Um. *debates about what to put in comment*

You'll have to ask me sometime.

The ads also claim that the vibrations make your legs radiant--or is it glowing? I guess to make it easier to see them in the dark...
