Goodbye, Livejournal.

Aug 31, 2011 22:12

I've been meaning to write this entry forever ago but I simply haven't had the time.

Okay, that was a lie.  I had the time but for some reason, I wanted to make the last entry very grandiose.  I was planning on linking to old entries to show you guys how much of a spaz I was back then in high school and then how I was beginning to mature during college and finally entering adulthood.  This obviously would've taken quite a bit of time finding interesting posts of the hundreds I have written.  And I really didn't have the energy to do it.  This was a common feeling for the past year and a half.

Writing on Livejournal is no longer fun for me.  It has turned into a chore, and I really don't know why.  My guess is because is of what Livejournal represents to me.  It represents the past, something I cling onto too much.  I am a very nostalgic person and I still remember the carefree days of high school when I would chat with a lot of you guys on Yahoo or when I first got the job at Speedy to my various relationships.  Whenever I write on this thing, no matter what it always comes back to me.  While it's not a terrible feeling, I'd like to move on. I've entered a new chapter in my life and I think this is the perfect opportunity to conclude this journal.  Some people tell me that it's because I don't really get much comments but I think that's bullshit.  Comments are nice, but they aren't required.  Case in point, on my new blog, no one has commented anything and I still am updating that sucker every few days!

Don't get me wrong, I loved the time I spent writing on this journal and connecting to people who I didn't really know before.  It was a blast but hey, all things must pass.  I still can't believe it's been 10 (!!!) years since I first posted on here, which was about a toothache of all things, haha.  I never thought I would this journal would've lasted so long. While I won't be posting any entries on here anymore, I will still keep in touch by reading everyone's journal and commenting on them.

I guess I will give my final update on life! It's been a month since I have moved to Osaka, Japan. It's been a crazy fun summer but also very busy since I had to furnish my entire apartment. Summer vacation is over now and tomorrow I start my job officially as a teacher.  I plan on visiting Minnesota in early December still.  I've made  a ton of of new friends and I'm trying to study more Japanese again.  If you want to read about my adventures in Japan, you guys should check out my new blog (that's right, I'm still blogging!) at http://thespacebetweentwoworlds.wordpress.com/ .

Anyways, to the few that are still on here and read this, thanks for all the comments and spending your time reading this silly journal.  It's been a hell of a run. -Diego
