I am loving the rain outside right now. From here, inside my house, it makes me feel so warm and cozy. I'm sitting in front of the computer wrapped up in a blanket, sipping red wine and listening to Ray LaMontagne -- and I can't imagine wanting to be anywhere other than right here. What a great feeling.

That's an excuse and you know it. Did you have any alternative ideas of when we could hang out, or were you just expecting me to tag along with you on Friday?

I expected you to either be pleased to join a small gathering of me and my friends or voice displeasure and ask to reschedule. I guess I didn't expect to be hollered at.

Of course we can get together another time. How does Thursday look? If that's bad, I won't have time before vacation but could just tell everyone Friday isn't going to work because I had previous plans.

It's just that this would be the second time in a row that we were suppose to hang out and other people ended crashing. And Thursday is no good, unfortunately. Are you going away for vacation?

I can tell them to bug off; that you had me first and don't want to share. I'm fine with that. I can't please everyone all the time, and I see them much more often. Friday it is.
