I can't believe it's almost August. Wow, this summer has flown by, hasn't it? Being as I'm not a kid anymore, I'm actually pleased to see summer drawing to a close. This summer especially has been entirely too hot for my tastes. I can't wait for fall to get here.
In the spirit of fall, my favorite season, I am thinking of
Abby's post requesting favorite smells -- because so many good smells for me come from this time of year. So, here is my list.
the crisp air of a fall morning
the mix of smashed apples and baking donuts you get when you walk into a cider mill
skin after a day in the sun
freshly laundered sheets
coffee brewing
wood fires
ground beef, garlic and onions sizzling on the stove
warm, wet earth during a summer thunderstorm
lilacs
So, what are your favorite smells?
